i am from a country where soccer was, is and always will be #1... just see my avatar :hehe:

so, as a person who loves and understands soccer the best teams so far are netherlands, spain and portugal... one of them will be the champion

You are right. Brazil has almost 200 million experts in football and is the most soccer crazy nation on earth. Scolari brought some discipline to Portuguese football, just as he had done when Brasil won the 2000 World Cup without the sacred Romario. Lots of people don't like him but he is the kind of coach that gets results. We will miss him.

Nice to see you joining this thread Bricio. Brazilians allways bring joy and colour into football!

After todays games Romania has as good a chance as Italy or France to advance. Assuming that Van Basten will probably use some of the reserve players for the next game, it gives Romania a better possibility to beat the Dutch.

The French and Italians are gonna sweat a lot in the next few days!

You guys should keep in mind that Romania got 4 pts in 2 matches with Netherlands in Euro 2008 qualification. In addition, the Netherlands won't push 100% effort to a meaningless game. And it is good also for Netherlands to win the champion if Italia and France won't be qualified. They will be stronger as usual when they go to 2nd round or so on

I bet Netherlands and Romania go thru.

Still, even Netherlands' substitutes are excellent and they will want to proove Van Basten they deserve a place in the team.

For Romania a draw or a small loss is the same. They will qualify if Italy and France will make a draw.

So Romania will have to take initiative and attack (and they got 4 points from Holland not by attacking ). Anyway very interesting group.

You can't go by past performances even though it may have a psychological effect. Every game has a diferent story. From this killer group we may see the 2 top teams (before the Euro started) pack their bags and go on an early vacation. Its part of the surprises that every tournament has.

I allways root for the underdog when its not my team. I will be rooting for Romania even though I love to watch the French and Italians play. We will see in a few days time!

We have all been assuming that the French and Italians will draw! I predict Italy will beat France.

Nederland will win euro2008, they play like Real Madrid, they r too strong, maybe spain or portugal can fight with them, but Nederland is still No.1
Sneijder is the best, he plays very simple, and that is most dificuilt in football...

Holland is clearly the favourite now (I must say it was my personal bet before even the tournament started). They've humiliated the last world cup finalist so that is a fact (and so is their wonderful style).

I cheer for Spain and they played fine against the (innocent) russians. Today we will have a better view after facing the swedish. It would be great to meet Holland in the final (that would be an attacking football fiesta), but Im not sure we'll reach it...

I hope France and Italy go home asap. They have not played well and most of the players are old, but remember how bad they started in 2006 world cup and they finally reached the final. It is not how you start but how you finish...

About Spain:Sweden, i think that it will be much harder for Spain,not like against Russian, and i will bet on over 2.5 goal, odd is 1.95 at bwin.com

Van Bastens first priority is Holland, he should not and probably will not care less about the mess his friend Donadoni has got Italy into, he is not there to do favours for his mates, he is there to win it with his team, if he wants to play his reserve team then that is his perogative.


For the record Holland have been the best team so far by a mile, i am not really interested in the Euros ( being English), but having seen the way Holland are playing i would be a fool not to watch football like that.They are brilliant.

man, they r professinals, they r friends out of the pitch, but on the bitch thay r against each other :kickass: . my opinion is that Holland will beat Romania, and match between Italy and France will decide who will go to quaters...

According to schedule table, winner and runner-up of group A,B will play against each other in the 1/8 round and 1/4 round. The same thing for groups C,D

So, Holland can play against GER only if both play in the final match.

I don't like this schedule, in the Semi-final, the match should be
Win #25- Win #27
Win #26- Win #28
