SPAIN in SEMIFINALS!!!!

Yeeeeeeeeahh Im so excited!! I had never lived this before (well in 84 we reached the final but I was like 6 years old so I wasnt really aware of the whole thing)...

Finally (yeah finally) we have broken 3 of our worse "curses":

1. The curse of quarter finals (it's been our limit for 24 years in all competitions)

2. The curse of Italy (we had not beaten them for 88 years)

3. The curse of Penalty Kicks (traditionally we're not good at them)

Now that we've done all this I truly believe we can win this championship. First, Russia, it will not be as easy as the first time for sure.

And after that, Germany awaits in the final...

Congrats! This is the first time I saw Spain can go that far :D

When ET began, I was saying that if Italia could not score, they would lose in penalty kicks.

Italia is not good in penalty kick also. But they win and lose alternatively. Last time they won in 2006 so I am sure they will lose this time :D

Im just worried about any Guus Hiddink team... bad experience in the past with South Korea. Plus this time the russinas will be looking for revenge after the 4-1, not to mention their game has improved a lot since then.

Examples:

1. Own goal in 1984 euro final against France
2. Out in penalty kicks against Belgium in 1986 world cup
3. The infamous "broken nose" episode in 1994 world cup against Italy
4. Out in penalty kicks against England in 1996 euro cup after playing a great match
5. Own goal against Nigeria during group phase in 1998 world cup
6. We missed a penalty kick in the last minute against France in 2000 euro cup
7. Referee didnt allow 3 legal goals against South Korea in 2002 world cup. We got out in penalty kicks

Enough? We havent been in a semifinal in 24 years, many times due to pure bad luck. So if we are to be called "lucky", I wonder what we should call Italy...

Let's hope the miracle takes place!!

But it's always complicated against Germany. They always reach finals so easily, even if they dont play well. Even more if the turkish team is missing some great players.

Anyway the only way to beat the germans is turning the game into a complete madness, which is, I believe, Turkey's speciality

Is Nihat out for sure? He's been the soul of this team in the important moments.

The Germans are doing what they do best. Play like a machine. Steady and reliable.
While they certainly haven't shown their best game, they prevailed - this, in turn should say that their game wasn't that bad after all, because they still advanced and the other teams certainly showed some good football (soccer).
As many times as the Germans have done it like that, i think we can comfortable eliminate "luck" as a contributing factor to their success.
Be it as it may, it's a young team stepping on the field against heavily handicapped teams - anything but a German victory would be majorly surprising.
