How does an american get a EU name?

By having an EU address, I think.

In this first step, the Registrant must verify whether it meets the General Eligibility Criteria, whereby it must be:
(i) an undertaking having its registered office, central administration or principal place of business within the Community, or
(ii) an organisation established within the Community without prejudice to the application of national law, or
(iii) a natural person resident within the Community.
The countries and territories that are considered to form part of the Community are listed in Annex 1 hereto.
In case of a negative answer: if the Registrant does not meet one of the above requirements, it is unfortunately not entitled to register a Domain Name under the .eu TLD. If the Registrant files a request for Domain Name registration, or if it is able to register a Domain Name without meeting the above conditions, the Registry is entitled at any time to reject a request for Domain Name registration or revoke the Domain Name concerned as it sees fit (Sections 6(4) and 9(4) of the Terms and Conditions).

Get yourself a European friend?

A European friend who'll let you use his/her address and phone number. I would offer but I'm moving soon so my current address won't do you much good!

Maybe someone else here is European and can give you their address to use...

Not sure it just have to be an European address but I think it must be an address within the European Union

What you need is a proxy service Cyberian.
A quick google search gave me these results.

When i quickly scanned the results i noticed Hostway.co.uk and i know this company is a legitimate company. So you could not go wrong by getting yourself scammed. They may be expensive since this is my experience with the company branch in Holland.

My father's friend let me use him as a contact, we will split 50% any sales. We only have a few names which I hand-regged (except for speedways.eu which internet.bs caught for us) and don't plan on regging any more. Lots of good .ca's still available! :lol:
