Estibot Sniffing?

I checked 2 names

1 was a GD closeout (unpopular)
1 was an unregistered (non-registered for 6+months)

The GD one got snapped up within 1 hour of the estibot check
The unregistered one got snapped up within 24 hours of the check

Are there bots sniffing at Estibot - using suggestions and registering them?

Maybe if names would be snapped up within minutes of checking + at same time I would believe those bots are sniffing..

Most likely some one else came across them two domains and decided it's worth to invest couple buck in that..

Never 'check' any name, especially w/ EstiBot...

Why even check EstiBot? It's pretty much useless.

Made me think about the real meaning of "bot" in Estibot haha.

I think it's just a coincidence especially if the names you checked were decent enough to catch a domainer's attention.

Basically, it's not a good idea to check any name on any platform if you are worried about secrecy. It may be coincidence that he names were picked, but if I were offering a free appraisal service I would certainly have a bot scanning the names that get entered.

When I think I might be the only one who has spotted the name, usually there are a few others like me waiting for the last minute. Still, if I think I have a good one, I am very careful about using any tools, especially free tools. There are discreet ways to check the whois, and that should be enough. An Estibot appraisal is not something you should use to evaluate a domain name, especially considering the risk.

If you must use a tool like that, at least wait and do it a few minutes before you are ready to buy.

Even it happens with ZFBot for me couple of times.
