is estibot the most accurate representation of monetary value of a domain name? or are there better sites? i found domainindex.com for example, which does the namepros community like the most?

There is no such thing as accurate automated appraisal.

Estibot is just to have an idea, it is not an accurate tool and none of the tool determines the domain value IMO.
Another option is to check the historical data of sales
Another option your gut feel will say the price

Ok I thought I would ask because a lot of people use estibot as a marketing strategy to show that their site's value is high then it would appear. If those sites mean nothing then writing "this botwebsite says my domain is worth 10 000$" would mean nothing in a message trying to promote/sell the domain.

Estibot is merely a guideline and should never be taken as the actual value of a domain. They use parameters like search volume for the exact match keyword, domain age and historic sales of similar domains. However they are unable to gauge the "brand-ability" of a domain. When it comes to valuating a website then Estibot is a little better as they take traffic volumes and site potential earnings into account but again it should be only used a a guideline.

I agree with all this. I use Estibot daily for briefly checking the parameters you mentioned. But the valuation itself should be treated with caution.

does estibot estimates the value of the domain name or the website if developed?

That's why it's estibot - automated estimate .. meaning a guess.

I think personal instinct even work better than Estibot. I tried on Estibot my one word English domain that is currently earning $800 per month and the result was $1,200. Even the guess is not anywhere near accurate.

Estibot doesn't include factors such as income via Adsense etc. It's purely collecting data about the domain name itself.

I have a travel related website that used to pay for my bills for a decade. It was (maybe still is) valuated at about $1000. At it's peak I would not have sold it for $500,000, maybe not even a million.

One, this is for appraisals of domains.
Not discussion of some crap service to appraise domains.
And again, this estibot thing has been asked, answered, and then all over again here so many times.

I checked a .me domain (yet to register the domain) on estibot. it shows a google search result of over 2million and an over 100k monthly search but it is still valued at $30. related sales are even over $75k

Someday if estibot wants to wind up and wish to sell their business, they cannot quote the estibot value of their website at least. Check it out. Check the price of estibot.com on estibot.com ;)

NameJet shows Estibot value does impact my max bid on an auction.

This is really interesting. So in many cases Estibot undervalues a domain name as opposed to over valuing it? Obviously many variables are not accounted for.

Try typing a domain into 3 or 4 different valuation site & you will likely get 3 or 4 different valuations !

Also, ask yourself this: if a domain sold for say $50,000, would the valuation sites have valued it at that prior to the sale ? Algorithms may have predicted a value nowhere near that figure BUT that's what someone was prepared to pay for it !

Much more accurate to go by historic sales imo
