6 figure for a 2L/3L or single word?

BTW .. This reminded me I had a pending offer of $10,000,000 for a popular name in .biz .. I just accepted it .. keep an eye on it for me.

.CO are pretty solid though .. but people need to keep the domains very simple. Common single word or single term.

The problem is that about a year ago they added tons of domains to the "premium" tier .. so you can't get the actual domains that sell with promo pricing anymore. Well .. you can probably find a few .. but nothing at all compared to before. It's too bad .. because the old .CO business model worked well for me.

I honestly haven't checked much lately .. I'll be sure to try to find a few domains next week .. at $1.99 always worth a bit of a gamble if you can find half decent names.

The 6- figure offer was a Chinese word - 3L .CO.

Because of the higher renewal fees, you see a steady expiry stream. We put together a great program with Neustar for several of their gTLDs but I am particularly excited about .CO. I like the pattern of asymmetric return of buy for $1.99 and sell for hundreds or thousands either via quick flip or passive selling via SSL landing pages and waiting for your bid. There are some folks here who are very adept at finding the names. I will see if we produce a list of .CO domains that were previously registered. We have done that before and it helped a bunch of people.

I see folks are picking up the deals at $1.99.

Truth be told -- the registry is making the GA deals harder to find. They have made many .CO domains that were previously GA into premium.

We are in contact with the registry to see what is up with that to see if we can get names put back to GA that were previously GA.

We have all the data and might make it a topic for public debate but first trying to make a constructive effort towards reasonable compromise on this issue.

I still managed to find a good name. According to Estibot (which I don't actually rely on), my ROI should be 20,400% That is, if I manage to sell the domain in the first year.

Of course, at a $1.99 investment, that ROI doesn't mean much. But it wouldn't be bad at all.

The trick to finding GA domains (non premium) is to select .NET and .ORG under "Name in selected TLD is available" ExpiredDomains.net The averages go from 5% GA to almost 95% GA names. Still some deals to be had there.
