Enom's Pre-Release Auctions

About two months ago Enom introduced their Pre-Release auctions.
Hopefully someone can clarify what this means exactly. Nobody seems to be talking about it.

According to their website: "Pre-Release auctions allow you to bid on domain names expired at eNom for the chance to get the name BEFORE IT DROPS. These are names held EXCLUSIVELY at eNom that have expired. Rather than let these high-value names drop, eNom has put the names into Pre-Release auctions so that our users have exclusive access to them."

Does this mean that if you buy a domain with high google PR from a pre-release auction the PR will not reset because the domain never actually expires? I've heard this is also the case with auctions on TDNam.com/godaddy.

Is there any way for an invididual to do something like this--grab/renew a domain BEFORE it expires, preventing it from expring at all? What if you are an enom reseller? Could you do it through their API?

Thanks very much.

Yes, I bought several at Tdnam and what they do is a push from their account to yours. Therefore, I am almost certain you keep the Google PR. The ones I got kept their creation date as well.
However, there is one risk, it is that the current registrant renews the domains before the date they should expire. In this case you won't get the names.

I've found some good ones on the pre-release. Takes a while to sift through them though.

I found in the last week:

0pz.com
surrealife.com

I'd say I spent at least 2 hours browsing to find them... and at my fees ($150/hour) I'll need to sell them for $300 to break even
