Q: Can I upgrade to the next Pricing Level in the future?
A: Yes, you can upgrade to the next Pricing plans at a later time. We will lower your rate (moving forward) once your account reaches 55 domains for the $8.95 pricing, 500 domains for the $7.95 pricing and 1000 domains for the $6.95 pricing. Just contact [email protected] since the rate adjustment will not be done automatically. And if you would like to "buy-in" for a lower pricing, we'll take the number of domains you have in your account and subtract them from 55, 500, or 1,000 and multiply by $8.95, $7.95 and $6.95.

And the new pricing structure (I got from my account rep). Can anyone confirm this too?

Upgrade Account from $9.95:
$6.95: $1,400 fee
$7.95: $800 fee
$8.95: $300 fee

Upgrade Account from $8.95:
$6.95: $1,100 fee
$7.95: $500 fee

Upgrade Account from $7.95:
$6.95: $500 fee

I just emailed enom asking for a free upgrade to $6.95 (from my $8.95 account).. I told them I have been with them for a few years and I have $6.95 accounts from Moniker and DomainSite... let's see what happens :)

They provided easy upgrade a long time ago, if I am right.
But not anymore :(
Let me know if they will, though I do not think they will.

I guess the calculations were wrong. It should be around $5000 for $6.95 price.

Hey they just removed the points description on that page?
:-/ :-/ :?
But anyway, as far as I know.
1 Point = 1 US$.
You need to deposit at one time or at several times to reach proper point threshold to get lower prices. It's much more than that.

EDIT:

Hey I found it:
http://web.archive.org/web/20050401061458/http://www.enom.com/resellers/default.asp

No reply yet, and I have a small portfolio there (mostly BECAUSE they charge me $8.95 and I am not willing to pre-pay thousands of dollars to get $6.95 when other registrars do it for no additional cost)

oic...
I know they are famous for going everything by the book, be it whether you'd been with them for 10 years or 1 month.... :'( :'(
who knows... it might be your lucky day today. :)

Well just to report back...

They said no and that I need to pay to upgrade.. and that's the only way to upgrade is to pay their one time fee.

They didn't mention any reason why I should choose to pay them $1,100 to upgrade to $6.95 domains vs getting the same thing for no additional cost at other registrars.

I am going to keep my $8.95 account just for bidding on expired domains but buy all new domains at moniker/domainsite

I have not received this in enom emails. did you have to ask them for the conversion cost?

It seems my previous post above was ignored.

I saw it. But it looked like you were describing the standard costs.

123finder seemed to be describing something different.

This difference is caused by the wrong caculations, as I stated in my post.
If you follow the instruction in his first post, you will know he did a wrong caculation so came to a cheaper price. That's what I meant in my post.
But anyway, I am just trying to help.

Reseller club is cheaper. $200 deposit, and $6.95 domains... Best thing is that the $200 goes toward the domains too.

Not familiar with other programs, so, I don't know how they work.. If they all work like this, this is still cheaper.

So why would people pay enom or reseller club extra $$$ just to buy domains @ $6.95 when you can get them for that price at domain site (or moniker if you ask nicely)????

$1,100 to upgrade to $6.95 at enom, that's crazy! Thats 158 extra domains to reg :)

My account rep said they're in the process of updating their site (reseller FAQ). And the fees are what they sent me, I do not calculate them. So for those who know how eNom's reseller pricing work:

Old way: you could gradually upgrade to the next price level if you (or your clients) have registered enough domains.
New way: pay an upgrade fee, no matter how many domains you have registered, and the fee will be deducted from your point balance and you can't use any of that for domain registration (compare to the old policy)

So why would people pay enom or reseller club extra $$$ just to buy domains @ $6.95 when you can get them for that price at domain site (or moniker if you ask nicely)????

It's a reseller account, so you don't just register domains for yourself but for your clients (companies like NameCheap, RegisterFly), and eNom has a pretty complete package for domain services.

Does this fee apply to non ETP account as well?

Upgrade to $6.95 ETP from $6.95 Non-ETP? :)
