Does anyone know if the Enom reseller API can still be used for drop catching? Does it work in real-time?

I don't know but since they help power NameJet's dropcatching, they probably give all of the power they have to NameJet during drops so it wouldn't be that successful. Good luck though!

What about godaddys api, will it be good or maybe dynadot will prove to be better?

I use it with the Desktop Catcher software - https://www.namepros.com/threads/desktopcatcher-software.873819/
There's a lot of good info within that thread

The four APIs I run are NameSilo, Gandi, Dynadot and eNom - NEVER has eNom caught a name for me. I only still bother to run it because I have a balance.

AFAIK GoDaddy is asynchronous so it would not work if you have any competition at all. Dynadot access is based on purchase volume so if you are serious you'd pre-fund Dynadot to get higher priority. I have only pre-funded $100 total and I have still caught several with Dynadot, though one proly no one wanted : grin :

I checked it yesterday and the Enom domain registration command was not realtime during the drop as far as I can tell.

It still showed "not available" while the domain was already available to register.

Perhaps this could have been due to caching as I had used a proxy server but to me it seems it does not update fast enough to be useful. You could beat it handregging.

I think I had smiliar problems with Gandi and Godaddy was horribly slow during the drop when I checked it.

As far as I can tell these APIs are worthless.

Dynadot and Namesilo seem to work well though.

I spoke with Enom about a month ago. Basically, Enom "blocks" the registration of all domains on the droplist during the drop. It doesn't matter if you go through an API call or even the website front end. I've tested & video recorded this on screen. Watch a crappy name drop, check at GoDaddy & it is available ... check at Enom and they say UNAVAILABLE.

Once the drop ends, it becomes "magically" available.

Yes, they block their customers from registering during the drop, helping their own drop catch channel beat their own customer. :(

And yes, I've tested with the same desktop software, my own API code, and even their website via a regular browser session, and the same thing in all places. They block.
