Really, you are trying to sell before knowing the price. You are very lucky if this deal closes, it doesn't usually happen that way. Would you go to a store to buy something if they didn't know the price? Anyway, we will need to see the number in order to help you. Depending on what numbers are involved, the price will be effected.

The OP is justified in asking the question. When did you start domaining?

I only see you learning. No mistakes here. Usually, if you are the one approaching the end user, the pricing can be tricky as opposed to them approaching you first. No one person can determine the exact price of any domain name. Else, one could walk in to a store and buy them, bar code and all. :)

The price that you quote is essentially what experience brings (or had brought) to the table... you don't want to quote too high nor too low. :)

Tip: Always leave room/margin for negotiation

Are you in the US?
Call the restaurant to close the deal.
Do they have an existing domain? Is it in the same extension?
Is the 6L taken in all other extensions?
If they have EatAtGrubHut.com and you are trying to sell them GrubHut.us, don't price too high because you'll scare them off.
Is it a generic term, or is their restaurant name unique? Don't violate any trademarks. (Do a basic word mark search here: http://tmsearch.uspto.gov/ )
Is it a nice restaurant with high menu prices? Or is it a taco shop with a run down unisex bathroom with a pop up trash can with a malfunctioning pedal?
Put yourself in their shoes...how much would you pay.

There are so many threads with all of the above advice and more. Namepros has been around since the beginning of time and is ripe with information. Read it!

When coming up with pricing the simplest way I do it is, I want to start with 50 times my investment (how much I paid for the domain) and see where the negotiations go. Sometimes I settle for 20 times or even 10 times my investment, these are all great ROIs.

Another good strategy will be look up information on that restaurant and see how much they make a year, see if you an find out how much they spend on marketing.

Just put the price low $xxx (negotiable). That would leave a room for an amicable compromise...
Don't forget to put down this line as well:
"Please rest assured we're committed working closely with the serious buyers"

All the best :)

Surely you must have a rough idea what you think the domain is worth. See how much very similar domains sold for in the past. How do these figures compare? That should give you an idea of where to place the name.
