Encirca Ends 25% .Pro Discount

Encirca removed it's 25% off holiday .pro discount yesterday. Surely it makes more sense to reduce reg fees into a bubble of renewed interest rather than push them back up? I'm convinced Tom would make more money charging less and increasing volume than sticking with an out of date $99 reg fee that most domainers cannot justify or afford. Price skimming doesn't increase demand or raise awareness, it just churns ownership.

Why ? There is no longer discount. But you will get 25 % off if you order 3 or more years.

could it be because of recent news from registryPro? Won't less restrictions cause more registrars, no proxy service cost and a price competition? Maybe Encirca is readjusting their .pro registration fees, and this time not a very extended holiday discount, but a real discounted fee including renewals also.
