Any thoughts on these names? And any suggestions on where would be the best place to sell them?

EMUB.com reseller $1k-$2k, end user $5k+.

EJPG.com reseller $500-$1k, end user $3k+.

ejpg.com 354 USD 2016-07-05 GoDaddy

Nice names :)

I'd probably hold them, 4L prices are bottoming out right now.

Hey guys let's come back to reality here. They're just your average LLLL .coms, IMHO.

Emub - sure, pronounceable and decent letters but does not roll off the tongue well and it doesn't really remind me of anything when saying it. Honestly, I'm surprised to see this one listed in Top Domains section already. It's tough to see that section getting watered down with mediocre names. I've purchased comparable LLLL .com here for low $xxx recently.

eJPG - doesn't strike me as a great name either. I get that JPG is a common abbreviation for a graphics file and most internet savvy people know/say jpg somewhat often, but that doesn't automatically give this domain a practical business use..I mean graphics files come in many different formats so even saying the name is great for graphics company is a stretch. I'd value it under $500 currently.

As always, end users may potentially pay x,xxx+ for a LLLL .com or any domain they really need.

End users may potentially pay x,xxx+ for any LLLL .com but you have to have names that an end user will want to get that figure.

Like I said, he should hold. Prices for 4L's are bottoming out. Not sure what he paid for them but selling them at today's prices to a reseller is not a good idea.

Selling them to a reseller may be a good idea if resellers were actually paying what you are appraising as todays reseller value.

Not trying to knock these names or LLLL's. I see them increasing in value in the long run and invest in them too, the market is still maturing though..slowly but surely..and it's normal to see reseller prices even lower for liquid names in the summer months.

Which is why I told him to hold. Like I said before, the prices of 4L's have bottomed out. I have a friend that bought one for $125 today. This guy may have been the one who paid $394 for EJPG.com which is why I gave him pricing guidance of min $500-1k for each of his 4L's because realistically he wouldn't be selling them for less than he paid for. That valuation may not be possible today, but in a few months things can change.

I never explicitly said my valuation was "today's reseller value", I did however, tell the OP that 4L prices are moving downward. I gave the OP my own personal opinion of what his domains are worth and warned him to keep them off the aftermarket until conditions in the 4L market improve.

Remember, the OP was asking for our valuations+what would be a good way to market the domains.

I know we're not professional appraisers here...but if you are asking for an appraisal for a house or piece of land do you want to know the current market value or for what it may be worth when the market improves? :xf.wink:

Anyway, back to topic.. I would list the names at sedo and afternic with either make offer page and lowest possible opening bid to encourage offers or with fairly aggressive BIN prices ($3-$5k ea).

Thanks for all the feedback so far guys - I love hearing the higher appraisals of course but really appreciate the people giving reasoning for why they could be worth less than the prices I have in mind. I've been out of the domain name scene for around 6 months so I'm not 100% sure about 4L.com values. Do you think now is a bad time too sell and that holding onto one or both of them would be far more beneficial in the long-run? (If so, what would be the reasoning for the increase in value?)

Thanks again for the feedback so far everyone.

Prices have bottomed due to a large exodus of Chinese money from 4L markets. They are looking for more liquidity and at the moment believe that lies in cryptomarkets. IMHO there is still a lot of volatility in cryptocurrency markets and nothing is abundantly clear on how things will progress. There is a ton of risk at play when investing in Cryptos, for example, Etheruem is getting absolutely crushed right now (might be a good time to buy if you believe in it). I think, money will flood back into 4L's but not at the same level of proliferation as previous years, because there is an alternative which has the potential to be a lot more lucrative. Wait a few months and see how things develop.

Thanks for the detailed response. Really appreciate it. Looks like I'll likely be holding onto these and see what the future holds barring a very good offer.

should get 500-1000 from resellers

enduser will pay whatever its worth to them
most of them either do not know or do not care about 4l.com current market values. liquidity or other things domainers keep track of.

Very true, I'm gonna have to start following the trends again (any recommendations on good blogs or threads here for that info?).

Although, the last time I did that was when 4L.com registrations were about to become extinct and the consensus was that once that happened, due to being a lot tougher to get ahold of, the value would increase dramatically. Instead, it kinda leveled off once they were all regged and then began to dip in value (if memory serves me correctly).
