Just received an email from EuroDNS telling me that they werent able to reg the name I wanted, and that the full payment would be credited to my EuroDNS account. ( Yeah - like I want it there, and not to be refunded to my card ).

Anyway, what made me laugh was the last part of the email ....

"We would like to remind you that the .eu land rush starts on Friday the 7th April at 11 o'clock central European time. Registration of the .eu TLD is unrestricted for all citizen of the European Union."

And this is on my email from them dated the 10th April ????

Bugger me, was the reason that they screwed up loads of pre-registrations because they don't know what dates are what ??

Anyway, lets see what I can use the refund to purchase.

ScrewEurid.eu might be available ;)

I just received that email,
When I rang them up in January I was assured that the money would refunded to my credit card, and now in the email it says that it will be put into the eurodns account.

They messed up my pre-regs except 2.
The number of domains which they failed, I won't use that balance in a year.

What do I do?

I get a credit for 21 domains and there're are no domains I want to buy. If I wanted to buy domains now I need not have pre-registered, I could have waited until now to registered the domains.

Eurodns use the word "Fast Registration" in the headline on their homepage. They put my domains through 4 hours after landrush open. That is not "Fast". In effect they are telling lies. If people register with them because Eurodns say they fast and they are not their money should be refunded.

Have you tried contacting them and asking about the CC refund? It may help and it may not help. :(
I tried calling but they now just have a answering machine which says email us or hang up (and then it hangs up )

I am sure that eurodns stated that unsucessful regs would be credited back to your account not credit card.

I have already regged some interesting non .eu names.

Phew Relief! Eurodns.com do give refunds. You have to apply on the website form and put "REFUND" as the subject in the box.

Eurodns' Terms of reimbursement

If the Customer does not obtain the desired Domain Name, EuroDNS shall credit the Customerโ€™s EuroDNS credit account accordingly.

Following this reimbursement, the Customer shall be entitled to request lump sum cash payment of the amount of the Domain Name for which payment has been effected.

In such a case EuroDNS shall reimburse the funds using the method of payment the Customer used when the Customer originally placed the order for the Domain Name. In other words, the reimbursement shall be realised either by crediting the Customerโ€™s credit/debit card or via a funds transfer to the Customerโ€™s bank account.

In both cases, EuroDNS shall retain five percent of the total amount, subject to a minimum of โ‚ฌ10 (ten euros).

They never told me anything about this 5% minimum fee if they fail to get the domain

I contacted them also as I got no domains registered and have no reason to keep money there. 10 days later, they did not reply.

I thought EuroDNS was a serious company, now I believe it's a scam.

They keep hold of your money as if they had successfully acquired the domains. When they got your money no wonder they weren't bothered about you ,and put your requests through at 4 in the afternoon. Complain to your credit card company, if your complaint is upheld Eurodns ability to take credit cards will be suspended. If they cannot treat your cc payments with respect they shouldn't be allowed near credit cards.

I had been in contact with the fellow running EUroDNS for a while now. He seems like a very nice person.
However, as far as support goes, EuroDNS fails to deliver.
The only .eu they managed to catch for me was a typo (a typo that I made when entering the names).
So now, I have some money there, and just tried to reg a few names.
it starts out by saying it is 14 euros + VAT per name, then during the registration process it jumps to 18+VAT and later on, the site says that I need to re log in...
Not a nice experience.
Overall, I am very disappointed with them.
I had hoped for better.
