I'm curious if you have found any alternatives to Efty? What are your thoughts?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I just wanted to highlight a key element that another Np'er brought to my attention. If you don't want to leak traffic to another marketplace or domain shop provider, then go with DMP. Domain shops on the DMP platform do not leak traffic. Your traffic belongs to you and you have the control how to monetize it.

the best competitor to efty is your own version of a landing page

Efty is mostly an arts and crafts sales platform, although some try and sell domains there. Better to list your name on Sedo, Afternic and maybe set up a portfolio on Dan.

Good afternoon,

I think you mean Etsy rather than Efty.

You should Google both to be sure.

Regards,

There is a lot more involved in having your own landing pages. For one, if you point your domains to your own landing pages, then you open yourself to DDoS and other hack/spam attacks as traffic increases. DMP offers protective measures that block bad players and allow legitimate offers through. Also you want to have a way to save and keep track of lead generation, which you can follow up on. Another aspect is the capability to create landing pages, as well as a domain shop, in a very quick time for hundreds or thousands of domains without having to go one by one.

Those are just a few points that I wanted to highlight. Our software offers a lot more features that would take too much time to go into.

I use Epik landers, and you can set up your stand alone marketplace there on your own domain, which i don't intend to do yet.

The new version of DomainTrader will be ready in July, because of the covid we had to delay the launch by 2 months, we will have a SAAS version and a downloadable one, it is a version that has been written from scratch.

Basically you can have your own marketplace, both personal or shared, like SEDO and flippa, it will be integrated with the godaddy API so that you can register domains from your own marketplace, we will also have modules such as marketing, knowledge base, premium marketplace, an improved parking module.

The new DomainTrader will not be a script, it is now a powerful CMS based on boostrap 4, which allows you to completely redesign your website with just knowing html and css, we are implementing the latest technology, soon we will integrate payments with bitcoins.

At the moment it is all I can anticipate, but it will be a very powerful alternative to efty.

Thanks for the tag @Bob Hawkes - it's not just domain name investors that sometimes confuse us with the handmade & crafty e-commerce site Etsy. We quite often get support tickets from Etsy users who are wondering where their handmade facemask or bracelet is :)

As pointed out already, the Efty platform is widely used by experienced sellers (and most brokers) who are confident in handling their own leads and maximize the deal size by having full access to the buyer details and putting deals in place without paying any commission.

Since we launched Efty in 2015 we've seen many alternatives come and go. Some better than the others and one of them was so good that we acquired them. Competition keeps us on our toes and as a result we always keep improving the platform and adding new features. This year so far it may have seen a bit quiet from our end with regards to announcements but that's because we're working very hard on a significant update that hopefully will shake up the industry and blow your socks off.

In May 2020 I tried to develop my website brandbu.com on efty.com. and I'm very happy because I can make a balance sheet in my portfolio.

This site is (more or less) similar to Efty: https://www.toughdomains.com
Haven't tried it myself but I know at least a couple guys that have been using it for a while. They seem to be happy.

I used Efty for a couple of years with lots of spam and sex/porn sites related messages with hardly any real offers. They have also pretty much almost doubled their price from the time they started in the beginning. I stopped using them. Mainly using Dan and Afternic and got better results. I may look into DMP for higher value domains

We have completely eliminated the past spam issue. We still give sellers full transparency and access to the inquiries and offers that have been flagged as spam however so you have a 100% guarantee that you won't be missing out on any offers either. Feel free to sign up for another trial to kick the tires.

Another price increase is scheduled for Q2 but as always, existing sellers will be grandfathered as we never increase the price for those who have an active subscription.

I checked Efty landing page today but it seems that it's still using https://www.google.com/recaptcha/api.js instead of recaptcha.net/recaptcha/api.js. for recaptcha.

You should really fix it because when the potential visitor from China without VPN.
The recaptcha will never showed up and they have no way to submit their offer.

@Yusupbabay Nice site. Is there an option to remove the "Powered by efty" link on the bottom of the page?

Hi
Thank you @CobraKai
I do not know how to delete it.

As far as I know, you get a "White label" option on either Professional or Enterprise plans. And only "While label" option will allow you not to have Powered by Efty.

This is correct. The Professional and Enterprise plans also come with additional perks like Stripe and Zapier integrations and a custom favicon.
