I agree with the last post. However, it is hard to say given I have no idea what an ecocity is. Sounds like it is simply a prefix and a word put together that are only good for a business name.

It is sort of like my domain name namegroups.com. Means nothing really. It just sounds good.

But I could be wrong. Correct me if this is so.

36,000 results on Google for "ecocity".. it's a term in usage.

Yes, I understand. But that only means there are 36K sites with the term ecocity on them in some manner. There are only 45 searches for the term on the overture network.

Ecocity.COM has only and Alexa rank over 2 million. I kno walexa meand little but when it is that high (or low, depending on how you look at it), it does mean something...low traffic.

So far, as I have suspected, ecocity is really not a word. Just a prefix and a word put together. ecocity is more of a name that would be used for a ficticious business bame, like ebay. Ebay means nothing. But it was branded to the point where the word "ebay" has become synonymous with online auctions.

Unless you find a business called Eco City or Ecocity taht has a big bankroll and understands the benefit of such a domain when it is developed properly and marketed properly, I suspect you will have a hard time selling that one for more than low $XX. But I could be wrong.

I agree with the above post that htis is one that may need to be developed and branded before it would even be considered by any non-ecocity business.

Too bad it is plural and too bad it is a .NET. these both are two major strikes against this specific domain which is hurting as it is IMHO. May even mean the difference between low $XX and $0

Coined term or not, the fact that there are 36,000 references to "ecocity" in quotes is significant in that it means it's a term others are using, and not one he made up off the top of his head.

Low OVT, plural, and .net do hurt it but the term "is" being used.

End-User: Midlow $xxx
Wholesale: Low $xx
Personally: $5

All Appraisals are IMHO only.

-Allan

"End-user" appraisal is my best estimate, but of course can vary greatly depending on luck and timing.
"Wholesale" value is assuming it is being sold to a "middle-man" of sorts, not looking themselves to develop, but maybe thinking of parking it and/or selling it to some unknown end-user.
Amount I "personally" would pay is not meant as an offer to buy or an acceptance of a pre-existing named offer. It is an invitation for offers only. It reflects my desire not to take on any more domains that I would have to develop at this moment.

Does the fact of 49 uniques a day change your appraisals ;)

It is interesting how peoples oppinions differ on DN appraisals.
E.g. I concider the plural + net in this case nearly same value than the singular or .com version.

Here are just some examples I found within 30 sec of search:
Conference on Ecocity Development
Urban Ecology Australia advocates, supports and initiates EcoCity Projects
EcoCity Cleveland
Boulder Colorado Ecocity

I also found this nice statement while searching:
“Much of the debate over the environment has had the character of monkey chatter amidst the withering leaves of a dying tree the leaves representing specific, isolated problems. In the midst of all this chatter, very few of us have been paying attention to the environment’s trunk and branches. We must learn to deal with the environmental problems at the systemic level; if we heal the trunk and branches, the benefits for the leaves will follow naturally.”

Not sure, but the best way to see is to put it up for sale. You will not ever get more than XXX or XX appraisals here as no on eis looking to develop but rather speculate and trade and collect.
