well, having signed up to use ebay recently, I sold my first item today, a gaming mouse that I didnt want.

I listed it at £12 and someone bought it, but..my god, ebay and pay pal took £2.24! that is an incredible sum! seems really REALLY high to me. It was ebays final selling fee of 10% - £1.20 that pushed the fee up to, what I think is a ridiculous level.

I did read and agree to the fee's before selling but holy cow now I see it in black and white - what a damn rip off!

Oh ebay and the post office just cant keep their fingers off the up money button. The new thing ebay has now is that the seller is responsible for the item all the way to the buyers door. Which really takes away offering the opition of insurance. Ebay keeps beating down sellers to make more money and make the site seem buyer safe.

When you sell anything on ebay make sure you take that think of those fees and commission. There is one paypal fee calculator on the net, check that. Also always put your price in such way that you don't get into loss.

Thanks for the info guys.

I dont think I'll be making a regular thing of Ebay (selling anyway), to much effort for too little reward.
