I'm putting up a domain on auction and contacting the end users about it.
What would be the best place to sell it? Ebay, Sedo or maybe another website?

This will only work if its a really good domain, if you know all the end-users will want it and are going to fight for it, then thats fine, if not, you are better off trying to sell it to them individually. A lot of companies dont like getting involved in an auction, as they know they will pay top price, and they dont want that, especially for an "avergae" name. They would rather deal with you direct and try and get it a bit cheaper.
Now if you were selling AutoInsurance.com to a car insurance company or PrivateJets.conm to a jet charter company, it would be a different story....
Different strategies for different quality names is whats needed
We can't can tell you that without knowing the domain??
If the name is CheapAutos.com, I would give a totally different answer to if it was CheapLasVegasAutos.com.......
That's why I suggested contact the end-user, have a price in mind and mention the price you are selling it for. Make sure you go a little higher than what you are happy with so there is room to move on the price.
