Im sure this has been brought up a few times but it amuses me everytime i see it . People charging "Shipping" on domains for transfer fees. Or if there is something that is being sent by Email they ad "Shipping" here are some examples......LOL

Rapper Artist 50CENT is one of the most searched artist on the web this year!
Here is the top 3 shortest domain for the best result in search engines.

I wanted to run a website about 50 CENT but I really do not know how to handle this kind of traffic!

Include domain hosting untill 03/05/04 -

E50CENT.COM

50CENTWEB.COM

E-50CENT.COM

50CENTWEB.NET

E-50CENT.NET

E50CENT.NET

$20 transfer fee per domain as a shipping fee.

Shipping and handling: US $120.00 (within United States)
Buyer pays for all shipping costs

The names are just awful to begin with ....

here is another example of something being delivered by email ..

The winning bidder will be charged a $3.00 shipping/handling fee. This $3.00 shipping/handling fee represents a reasonable estimate of my costs to make the product available and deliver it electronically. The fee includes a reasonable estimate of the actual labor and associated costs that are involved in delivering the product. This fee is in compliance with eBay Policies.

the buy it now was 99cents on this item (not a domain)

Now I understand that this is a easy way to not have to pay high final value fees but at the same time it just makes you look bad.

And sorry if it is a fellow NP member selling these domains. HAHAH

Lol that amuses me as well.. seeing as if you were actually transferring a domain it wouldn't cost more than $9 a pop. Bah.
I think my shipping + handling prices are reasonable (I don't sell domains on eBay anyways) see:

LOL

yeah Cass that is good. Your shipping is fair ...I understand shipping on a physical item. you should charge the cost of shipping/handling within reason . But with a domain or antything electronic lets be real. to charge someone 3 buck to email something is just nuts....lol

Yeah that's true. But still, if it's something that takes a while to send.. with my AOL I can't do anything while a file is sending and it might take a while. But other than that it's stupid.

i know what you mean slipondajimmy . i have actually seen it pretty bad on Ebay When selling domains, the auction started at $0.99 with a shipping fee of $300.00 , i think ebay caught it because i dont see it listed anymore , the whole thing is people are trying to avoid the listing fee , because i believe it works on a teir program , the higher u start the bid the higher the listing fee . everyone is just trying to get their slice of the ebay pie , and most of them think they will get it by charing silly shipping and transfering fees

The real funny thing is...there are buyers out there paying these types of shipping fees.

Just another way to play the game!

here is a great one i just found on Ebay

The Auction Started At $1.00 with no reserve but this was places in the Seller's payment instructions & return policy:

IF AUCTION ENDS BELOW $50.00 THERE WILL BE A $39.00 ADMINISTARTION FEE ADDED TO THE FINAL BID WHICH HELPS COVER DOMAIN AND SET UP. IF THE AUCTION ENDS OVER $50.00 OR MORE THEN THERE ARE NO OTHER FEES ADDED TO FINAL BID!!

thats a real steal of a deal there isnt it ??? LoL
i wish they would just spent the extra few cents for the higher listing fee instead of pulling this

They might as well just put a reserve price on the item, then. Silly.
