I find many domain sale listings on eBay whose reserve prices are very high.. (for very ordinary domain).. Further I see the same domain being repeatedly listed for sale with same reserve price..

Isnt this a clear waste of money? What do sellers gain from this? coz, if you're gonna list a domain with 15k reserver, the listing fee itself is $50+..

Currently i saw this featured listed domain 0-cent.eu wid a starting price of 1k.. i dont tink any1 s gonna buy at that price.. But then why waste money>??

I simply dont understand. Any of you do?

i think some of us are talking reserve and others start price

The starting prices by themselves are rediculous. I'm sorry, Mr. eBay-and-Domain Noob, but there's no way in heaven or hell I'm paying $1 million for zrgrgzg-gndbrdg-564zrbr.co.uk.

Ha! This thread is cracking me up too.

Did you see the one where the guy was trying to "break the world's record for most expensive domain?" :)

Haha, that's one for the archives.

Please just try to bring traffic to their crappy domains by Featuring them and having HUGE starting prices...

It is fun to go in everyday and see what the new names are lookin' like

The traffic generated isn't always worth the price. Some ppl pay $100+ getting their domain homepage/gallery featured and then the listing fees associated for a million-dollar starting price/reserve and wind up with very little to boast about.

There is an exception to what's so damn funny: 4 letter .com's. They are so unpredictable. I've seen one sell for $x,xxx just recently on Afternic while I've seen loads sell for $10 or less elsewhere. So I can understand people putting high prices on 4 letter .coms (no higher than $5k) but for the rest, well... you'd have to be tripping on acid to bid on a 'million-dollar' 30-character-7-hyphan-random-jargon-.ws.
