BUYER BEWARE: Sellers who do not honor their domain auctions

here's a rant...

This isn't just directed to the sellers but buyers as well. This is nothing new.. I just wanted to mention how sellers who list their domains for sale (auction style) are not honoring their commitments when the auction time ends and there is NO RESERVE.

Ex - Auction Style :: (set a time limit, starting bid, no reserve, payment options)

Don't waste an individuals time when their actually going to commit on their end to transfer funds to you in exchange for your domain. Regardless if you plan on selling a domain and the buyer has met every requirement don't ignore the request to complete the sale and think someone won't call you out for it you'll see.

If you feel as if your domains are worth a value that you won't regret letting go list a "BUY IT NOW" OR "MAKE AN OFFER". DON'T waste my time or yours!

Anyone else dealing with this recently?

So who are you talking to in your post above?? Many of those members who have done this in this forum- dont last long here.. Admins consistently infraction them for this behavior which leads to eventual suspension

just report them and go on with your life..:)

Are you talking about auctions here on NamePros or elsewhere? Or just domain auctions in general?

Namepros auctions in for one. Other domain auctions I've participated in other sites have had to dealt with similar experiences.

What a shame.

I've been around here almost 6 months and watch the sales threads all the time and participate in some. Rarely on this site will you see sellers backing out from what I have seen. I do agree that if a seller wants a minimum price for a domain he should make sure it's stated by either a reserve price or maybe just start the auction at what his minimum is. The admins around here keep a close eye on things to make sure everything operates as it should, including sales. If something breaks/violates a rule here then action is taken.

You can't have reserve price auctions here on NP, other than setting the starting bid price. So you cannot be talking about NP.

Just happened to me on oys.net, paid and then Godaddy sent a refund saying the seller wouldn't honor.

Godaddy auctions.... what a nightmare.. How much was it going for? Godaddy won't do anything?

Went cheap, but still should get something for the trouble. Oh well, this time.

GD should impose some sort of penalty in this situation for repeat offenders... stupid.

You get banned from GoDaddy Auctions if you don't complete a sale.
