i noticed that 2 days ago

i have never seen a lease at ebay before... you lease the name for one year under a contract, put a good content there, promote the site, etc and after one year it is over and then you have to start all over again using another name

thats not for me... if the leasing was for 3-5 years ok, although i wouldnt have a project regarding this name now

Is it up for auction as a lease again?

yes, do you know what the lease went for in the past? I'm not interested just thinking with a name like that it has much much better uses that random yearly leases.

No, I have no idea what it went for. My personal estimate would be around one million dollars a year or more looking at other domain leases.

Lol, evenbetter.com goes for 166K a month.

1 million for a drop.com lease? That seems a bit extreme.

How do you determine how much a name should lease for every year?

I find leasing ridiculous. You increase the value of the name with your development work and get to pay for it, too. That makes about as much sense as burning wads of cash.

I know, but these days you can never be certain, at least I can't. I just looked at some other domain leases and made my conclusion.

Do you know how much it went for? I'm kind of curious, couldn't find anything about it on the Internet.

No I dont, but I would say that if it went for a million i dont know what I would do with myself.

I noticed this the other day... I skipped over most of the text but there doesn't really seem to be any real contract in the item description... It all seems a bit 'dodgy' to me - especially putting a name like that on Ebay for lease... You would think Namepros or one of the other popular domain forums would be the place to start?...

In any case I totally aggree... this is an excellent name that could be so easily branded and if it was would increase its value immensly... Think of the dropshipping site you could put on that!

I have little or no knowledge about domain leasing, so as confusing as it already is I think some websites make it even more confusing with ridiculous lease prices for less valuable domains.

Drop.com is a really good domain, it would sell very high at the current time.

Yes it would. However to lease it for a year for a million would be a terrible investment. First of all if you have a million to drop you could buy 50? LLL.com names which would probably return much more in the long run.
