.mobi Dunce.mobi (My first .mobi site)

Hi All, I messed around with mobisitegalore.com, its kind of cool for basic developement (at least to get something up to start.) Let me know what you guys think about my site its at its very begninging stages.)

It took me about 5 hours today to design my logo and mess around with it, but I want to get your oppinions of the direction of the site, I will have someone else develop it soon down the road.

By the way that picture is me riding that Dumbo ride :hehe:

I hope to make this site into a kind of "stupid thing of the Day" kind of thing and have people that do stupid things be laughed upon lol, including stories and jokes. Check out the Dunce of the Day thats me

I probably will, but those are the jokes I had remembered from the top of my head, right now I am just trying to find direction in this site. I appreciate your comments along with all with the good and the bad from the rest of the Namepros.

Great start - this is a good time to get a mobile site out there before there is more competition. It's a nice name for a humour site too. I'd remove the 'this site is under construction' sentence and replace with something like 'check back often for updates'.

A site like this doesn't have to be anything fancy, many people would like to check in for a daily joke. Probably best to keep it clean if you plan to run ads in the future, maybe make a second site for more 'mature' type jokes.

I'd say to anyone get your mobile site started and out of the gate, ways to monetize the site will come in time.

Yeah I think I may take them off or at least put in a different section and have mainly clean jokes and funy stupid people stories

In the silly notice genre there is one on the Yorkshire moors which states "Pleae do not throw stones at this notice"

Mistranslations are also goood for a laugh - in a theatre in East Germany (in the good old cold war days) there was a sign which said "Please hang yourself in the cloakroom".

Re. mobilesitegalore.com -given that it's a free hosting service are you allowed to put ads. and affiliate links there?

thats good, I like mistranslations and stuff, it was funny what you said above. Also Mobisite galore is just a sitebuilder I think, and I host through godaddy, So I think I could advertise on there, but not possitive. But right now Im just playing around with some ideas and having fun, I wanted to see how much rom an animated gif took up as well. I think im gona take the animated part offI think my home page may be to big with it.

I am making updates aroudn the clock now, (my work is gona love me tommorrow when I do is daydream and think of jokes) what I really need to do now is to find stories of stupid people or photos things/jokes ect...

Go to www.mobisitegalore.com It is good for a basic static site, I believe. I dont think they supply hosting but all you got to do is to get a hosting account and punch in the Ftp info and it works. The program kind of works like Word ect... I think anyone can do it. I have limited knowledge with creating websites other then basic static websites in Dreamweaver ect...

Anyway I highly recomend going to www.mobisitegalore.com to get out of the starting gate with your .mobi site then after it you know the direction of it hire one of the fellow NP'rs to design it.

Eventualy it will become updated everyday with new content, but first I need to build my content "Jokes & Stories" Library up.

I just updated the joke of the day today, See if you get the the theme song of the joke stuck in your head...I had it in my head now for almost the whole day

Hopefully by the weekend I can alot more jokes and stupid people stories up.

Thanks, I wish I knew what that meant lol. I am no programer at all, I used mobisitegalore.com for it. But I do know basic dreamweaver and such and how to build static sites with builders, (just not any code). My main job is graphics. But I am starting to study more for HTML and such.
