A bit of dry ice in a 20 oz. plastic soda bottle and a quick exit are all you need for a successful dry ice bomb. Don’t try this at home, please. Check out this video as posted on YouTube by ghetroboy:

Nice Dave. I should try that sometime. I have made homemade smoke bombs with tin foil, ping pong balls and another thing. I think I have a new project, making dry ice bombs :D

Looks like fun, but I obviously wouldn't suggest it to anyone.. if you notice, they very nearly got hurt a few times in that video.

The host (NPServe) was apparently hacked.. hoping that is easily fixable.. getting very frustrating as that host has recently been under constant DDOS attacks. They just managed to stabilize the server and now this..

That sucks Dave. What a time for it to get hacked. Good luck restoring everything. I wonder what method he used to hack into your site.

Now I see your post, I am thinking that you might want to get a new host if they are always having problems like that.

I have no idea how to even go about restoring it or if my host can do it..

Hopefully your host has backups from recently. Most decent hosts do keep backups so hopefully they can restore a backup of your site if they have one.

NOTICE: I am not suggesting anyone do this! In fact, I would discourage it.

When I was in school there were 5 of us in one big house, thus lots of "stuff" happened. "plastic soda bottle bombs" were one our favorites. We made them from lots of rapidly expanding stuff. I did not take long for the neighbors to call the sheriff and they paid a visit, cited each of us for disturbing the peace. But, the "threats" they made if they had to return were not pleasant.

Notes:
* Doing this in a garage will likely lead to replacement of windows.
* 5lbs. coffee cans will do a lot of damage to a car upon return to earth.
* The neighbor with the aggressive dog will not find this funny.(even if he is in your yard)
* If it does not explode in a few minutes, it will when you pick it up.(newtons law or something)
* Placing it in the refrigerator for later use will not endear you to fellow roommates.

Also, if you think this is something, you should see a 55 Gallon barrel implode. :kickass:

Hmm, I learned how to make smoke bombs from a family with 14 sons. lol. They do a lot of interesting stuff. I have learned a lot about making bombs from them. It is pretty cool. My friend almost gone his hand blown off for making something called "Fire in a Can". It was a can with gasoline in it and when he lit it his hand was almost blown off and we have it on film at school since he was doing it for a Television Media project.

You sure your not talking about Murphy's law? ...ie "anything that can go wrong will go wrong"

and yes this is a serious "DO NOT TRY AT HOME" kind of thing so stick to alkaseltzer and film caps for the young enthusiasts :]

Murphy! Yep, that is the guy! When he's around things can get ugly fast.

Lol, I have learned the hard way about Murphy's law but there is no way to avoid it.
