I could only find 3 possible registrations making your domain availability value neutral. The assumption here is that for every person that registers a similar name in a TLD, that is like making $2.50~ half a registration fee. Though, because of speculation, the value starts at -$7.50, so that is why I'm saying your value is neutral more or less as far as domain availability goes, it isn't your sales pitch.

Overture

Overture can be Found Here:
http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/

2254 drug company - (NO exact searches for 'drugs' company. The plural here is hurting you, I can't give any value because of this, though what I can do is give value to the individual words that make up the domain name.

163392 drug
0 drugs
101955 company

because your major keyword drugs has '0' results or close to monthly on the plural search that would hurt any value from overture you might have gained as company. Normally if your other keyword had at least some search results you would gain a small amount of value from having two good keywords, so long as those keywords made sense together of course.

So overture is not a good sales pitch for you and there is no value in it there.

+$0 OvertureValue

TLD VALUE:

.COM is the best TLD to have so you don't lose any value from your TLD

This is a (+) going for your name =).

Relevent Keywords:

I've made a tool to assist in finding relevent keywords you might find useful, it's at http://dnfinder.net/keywords2.php?keyword=drug

-Drugs-
Medicine

-Company-
Business

I personally think those might be good alternative keywords that we can use for comparison should we find domain sales comparables with names like those.

Domain Sales Comparables with Relevent Keywords In Mind:

Found all at: DNSALEPRICE.COM~

Drugs com $823,456 Aug 99 Unknown 1 5 N N http://Drugs.com GoldNames

This sale is notable because one of your two keywords 'drugs' and 'company' it makes up the drugs part. It should be taken with a grain of salt however. Names like myspace are worth a lot also, but doens't neccesarily mean the words after 'myspace' might be worth anything as another domain. It's good to know that Drugs though is a money worthy keyword.

HealthDrugs com $2,010 Mar 05 Pool 2 11 N N http://HealthDrugs.com DNJournal
ForeignDrugs com $2,500 Aug 04 Afternic 2 12 N N http://ForeignDrugs.com DNJournal
AmericaDrugs com $4,906 Jun 04 Pool 2 12 N N http://AmericaDrugs.com DNJournal
PrescriptionDrugs com $4,300 Jan 04 Pool 2 17 N N http://PrescriptionDrugs.com DNJournal
DiscountDrugs com $30,010 Jan 04 Namewinner 2 13 N N http://DiscountDrugs.com DNJournal
AllergyDrugs com $13,000 Mar 06 Sedo 2 12 N N http://AllergyDrugs.com DNJournal
CanadianDrugs biz $1,000 Feb 06 Sedo 2 13 N N http://CanadianDrugs.biz DNJournal
TransplantDrugs com $100 Oct 06 Moniker/Traffic 2 15 N N http://TransplantDrugs.com Moniker

I'm pointing all these names out to prove a point that 'Drugs' in a name can sell (EVEN IF it's not a .COM TLD!) well if the word before it makes sense with it anyways, HOWEVER! notice that the names are always at the end. I could not find any sales involving domains with 'drugs' in the front. You should keep note of that. I did find domains with 'drug' in front but not 'drugs'. You should only count 'drugs' since that is what you have for the purpose of evaluating it's value.

As for your other keyword 'Company', I could only find 3 sales comparables that are relevent.

OffshoreCompany com $18,138 Jul 05 SnapNames 2 15 N N http://OffshoreCompany.com DNJournal
CollectionCompany com $2,700 Feb 05 SnapNames 2 17 N N http://CollectionCompany.com DNJournal
ConstructionCompany com $4,200 Aug 04 Afternic 2 19 N N http://ConstructionCompany.com DNJournal

While in some good ranges, none of there second keywords match yours. This also shows that names with Company at the end despite what you might think don't sell very often. It's a 'High Risk' keyword to have at the end for investing purposes.

Looking at it's possible relevent keyword business,

MyFirstBusiness com $750 Jan 07 Sedo 3 15 N N http://MyFirstBusiness.com
PensacolaBusiness com $450 Jan 07 Afternic 2 17 N N http://PensacolaBusiness.com
VerySmallBusiness com $488 Jan 07 Afternic 3 17 N N http://VerySmallBusiness.com
ShoppingClubBusiness com $727 Feb 07 TDNam 3 20 N N http://ShoppingClubBusiness.com

Business com $7,500,000 Jan 05 News 1 8 N N http://Business.com

AnnArborBusiness com $350 Dec 06 Afternic 3 16 N N http://AnnArborBusiness.com Afternic
ArabianBusiness net $738 Aug 06 Afternic 2 15 N N http://ArabianBusiness.net Afternic
SeminarBusiness com $575 Dec 06 BuyDomains 2 15 N N http://SeminarBusiness.com DNJournal
SexBusiness co.uk $920 Jul 06 AcornDomains 2 11 N N http://SexBusiness.co.uk DNJournal

JapaneseBusiness com $2,288 Jun 06 SnapNames 2 16 N N http://JapaneseBusiness.com DNJournal

I don't think I need to put any more results to get accross the idea that 'Business' is a much stronger keyword then 'Company' and would be the better choice for your secondary keyword. While in general 'Business' seems to sell for less at the end of the name, it sells a lot more often thus making it the more 'Reliable' keyword, and possibly worth more because of that.

I coudnt find any keywords concerning drug/medicine relation and business that sold, so I can't say with any High % confidence that just because you choose business you'll do better, but I can say it'll definently be more reliable for you then 'Company'.

CONCLUSIONS:

After reviwing the sales comparble with all keywords in mind (meaning I searched sales involving medicine and business together as well I've concluded that your name is a 'HIGH RISK' Domain Name with your strongest keyword being drugs because of the huge sale of that one keyword and the domains having drugs at the end of it. Though remember that 'drugs' should be in front for those to be considered proper domain sales comparables.

The word 'Company' in this case is working against you, and the plural in 'Drugs', the 's' is working against you in both overture and domain sales comparables.

I think your speculative value of this name is potentially low $X,XXX should it sell, but your chances of selling the domain name in a relevent time period are very low given the sales comparables, but you never know. I'm just giving it to you as I see it with the numbers. I would imagine a name like this might take many years of promoting to sell, maybe even '5' years+ before you get any kind of return that is decent in the range I specified.

So to finalize this all, DrugsCompany.com I appraise at low $XX (Reseller Price) - With the potential to make low $XXXX (End User Price), given a very large amount of time, possibly 5 years+ if at all).

My recommendations are if you are investing hold onto it if you want, or if you bought the domain for resale within any kind of reasonable time you might want to consider trading for a better domain name with. You might if you like names like that trade to aquire a name with 'drugs' at the end instead, and names with 'business' at the end tend to do better then 'company'.

I should also note if you plan to sell the name, you should sell it based on it's sales comparables as they are your strongest selling points.

Best,
- Joe~(http://dnfinder.net)

Thats one heck of an appraisal. You should charge him at least $50 for all that research :)

I would give it low xxx - mid xxx. I didnt bother reading that long one above except the first bit. Ive spent plenty on a name only registered in the .com. I think a generic drug company might want a generic drug company name, and that would be yours.

edit: drugcompany.com is on auction http://www.sedo.com/auction/auction_detail.php?language=e&auction_id=5974

I stick by my appraisal, the s hurts yours.
