.tv Dropping .TVs Mutterings

Like many of you, I scan lists containing thousands of deleting domains every day. Occasionaly I'll spot a name and think to myself, "what was this person thinking when they choose that domain"?

Today's .TV deletes contains a few of these:

REALATORSHOWTOGETPAIDWHATYOUAREWORTH.TV
Note: Length is 36 characters including one misspelled word.

TELEMARKETERSWANTTOGETPAIDWHATYOUAREWORTH.TV
Note: Probably same guy that regged the first domain except this one makes no sense to me. They should get paid what I'm worth?

TAMPON.TV
Note: If .TV is the .COM of the video-centric World, what type of content could someone expect to find while visiting this website. I was thinking about picking it up and using it to host videos of how to insert your first tampon. There are a bunch of Youtube videos on the subject. Really.

TESTICLE.TV
Note: Same as tampon. Does anyone really want to see this? Yeah probably.

I would like to meet these guys one day and just ask them, "what were you thinking". They may have a really good answer.

Content? How about those hilarious mother and daughter on the beach talking about "feeling clean"? Nostalgia alone would get you a bit of traffic. Add some tampon ads and away you go.

Testicle.tv? I would say something about testicular cancer, but likely porn.

Funny post Greg, I have thought the same thing when reading the drop list there are so many bad names regged it is not even funny when you look at all of them. There are double hypens like *--*--.tv.

I think those were douche commercials, but the general idea was the same thing I thought of when I saw the name.

I think Tampon.tv has great potential.
Any product name domains can be developed without too much hassle & Tampon's sell in massive numbers so if you did find a way of making the site get traffic then it could make you a good income.
All thats needed is innovative, fun marketing and thats normally what you provide Smah. All IMHO of course.

Thing is that if .tv becomes a well-recognized domain worldwide then what seem like offbeat names NOW will be prime territory THEN.

I still believe strongly that .tv could evolve to be the #2 domain out there. It sure wont happen in just a couple of years though.

i turned down a offer for one of my names on sedo..and the guy phoned and was very offensive to me pointing out i should be lucky for any offer and havent i seen all the dropped tv names.....he has called 4 times now....yet his offer is only $100

maybe all these dropped names does effect the tv market/?
