Dropping a TM Domain.

I bought a large batch of 400 .us domains about a month ago, threw it all on Namedrive and haven't had the time to go back and really sort out what to keep and not keep since then.

I received a notification from ND that Google would no longer serve ads to "UnitedAirlines.us" which I apparently now own D-:

I emailed the domain contact for UnitedAirlines a couple of times offering to transfer the domain to them (no mention of selling - offering to give the domain) and received no response so I'm just going to let the name drop. I know that there is an expectation on TM owners to defend their mark or risk weakening it, so it seems very shortsighted of them to ignore those emails.

The real question and point of this post though, I believe that once I let the name drop I hold no liability for whoever might pick it up after the drop and/or whatever they might do with it ... correct ?

As long as you made a good faith effort to return the domain and didn't profit (although you did have it parked, which wasn't a smart idea), letting it drop should give you some breathing room. In fact, I would unpark the domain and delete it immediately (make sure you save the emails you sent to United) just to be safe.
