I need to confirm a couple of things in my head confirmed :yell:

First do both Snapnames and pool.com send there backordered domains to auction if more than one person backorders and they acquire it?

If so is there any worth using which doesn't do this?

A chance for the early guy with a budget would be nice!

Thanks

You are correct.
A few alternate dropcatchers work on a first come first served basis with one slot per name only, godaddy for example but they can't really compete.
Snapnames tends to grab most of the drops but leave a backorder at pool and maybe namejet (why not) - just in case.
You will find out if there are any other bidders when and if the name is caught :)

hmmm..... i have pretty much no money at the moment and it seems every name i want to backorder goes to auction which leaves me with no chance : ( i have had a godaddy.com backorder on around 7 names so far and they haven't grabbed anything im just stuck with a useless credit!

If anyone can give me advice on what to do i would be really grateful.

On a side note, GoDaddy couldn't even win a domain registered at GoDaddy!

lol i have come to realise that... i still haven't found out what i am looking for. Is there a service which won't send the name to auction? Something which just serves the first who backorders. Like GoDaddy, but better!

Thanks

No. You get what you pay for.

Call up GoDaddy and ask them for a refund. I did, and after pointing out on 4 occasions that they had failed to catch a name they gave me one.

On that note you can try catching for yourself! There have been programs and scripts made available on here before. I have a script that works for Enom thats suitable for leaving on a linux box at all times. I've seen a nice program on here that runs under Windows too.

Of course. When a domain drops it drop - the previous registrar has no particular advantage then.
From my experience godaddy backorders are sometimes useful for 2 things:
- grab .us domain
- grab domains released by the tasters

For .com snapnames grabs nearly everything.

i tried getting a refund from Godaddy already but they said they can't. Might look a bit more into drop catching scripts. Can anyone recommend?
