ok, well as you might have seen, the plugin is not required if you do not access the internet from one of their approved ISP's I can see these domains being worth something in a year or so when all ISP's support them.

All ISP's will be supporting them shortly, Zeeble? :gl:
Thanks.

I was ASKING (above) in the hope you could provide perhaps a link and some more information here on your claim regarding the supporting ISP's ... so I'll just assume you don't have that info readily available, IMHO.

Clearly, you should be stocking up on as MANY of these "New.net" domains now as possible ... stating ahead of the curve, and before others' find out, etc! :gl:
Right?

well the link was on that page that you gave me..... plus I contacted AOL (im with AOL) and they support it too. http://www.new.net/about_us_partners.tp thats the link.
BTW please do not call me a fibber, if I didn't know that I wouldn't have said it!

I do not like how some registration companies (like RegisterFly for one) list these phoney domains right next to legitimate domain extensions. It just creates confusion among those who buy them.

Sorry, a new.net domain can never be worth much because they are simply impractical to develop on. The fact that 186,000,000 people CAN view them is not worth much when another 186,000,000 people CANNOT view them. Money would be better spent getting a .info.

Excellent, no worries. :)
PS. I don't think they ever will, IMHO.

The thing you should Know Zeeble ... is that - If ICANN Ever were to assign/approve these extensions ... There's a chance They would start from scratch and not honor the "SO-Called" Domains already sold :| -
There's no Guarantee You will keep it ~ There's no Guarantee who will be able to view it .......

Good Luck ~ Nice Name ~ Non-Existent Extension in the Domainers World

Hopefully not too late to do a chargeback? I did the same about a year ago :S I think a lot of us have at one time or another.
In my case I had just done a search for no.info on dns 411.com
It shows: [NO.INFO] is available
Back then they didn't have quite as much legal info, it was pretty confusing luckily they refunded me after 60 days.

These new.net ext have never gained widespread acceptance.. most people don't even know they exist, let alone have the plugin to view them.

It's a shame because they'd potentially be very good, but $0 IMO, not even worth reg fee.

agreed...

Check www.iana.com and look for .game under TLD. Found it? Never wondered why such an aweseome word as "download" was available at new.net? Because it's worthless.

No, no, no they dont.. Zeeble pls, you are getting some advice from some people here who know what they are talking about... These new .net domains are worthless for they are not and will never be (imho) icann approved extensions...

Anyone typing in [anything].law .game .xxx .sport .ltd etc etc etc will not reside unless the browser has the plug in installed. From new.net ironically enough so its irrelevant if MSN, google, tiscali whoever gives you listing.

Its the same as this ridiculous iKeyword idea of a few years back http://www.ikeyword.com/register/register where you buy a type in phrase such as 'lawyers' and then when this is entered into an address bar, the user gets re-directed to a site of the ikeyword owners choice... Go buy one of these phrases from them if you like but it wont, hasnt and will never reside, you just end up wasting your money....

worthless, .game has no value whatsoever...

Remember, when Macromedia first launched Flash, people were going "Ewwwww... Plugin... Forget it...". However, it took off big time and now it's not an option, it's a must.
Lesson: if you want a product that requires a client-side plugin to fly, the product must be absolutely outstanding. Which phony new.net domains are not. ICANN can kill this at their will anytime they wish.
