Not sure how, but PokerRoom.Online and PokerRooms.Online slipped through preregistrations and they're not even premium (amazingly), so I nabbed 'em!

Given that poker rooms are originally an "offline" concept and because most poker sites are essentially "rooms" and they call themselves that, I think I made out with a couple of nice ones.

What .Online domains did you get?

From a good article I just read:

"A testament to the potential for end users of numeric and short character domain names are big name companies, such as Vodafone using 360.com for their corporate website. Within the domain world, registries like TLD Registry who represent new names in Chinese characters .online (.在线) and .website (.中文网) have demonstrated their ability to reach this type of audience with ease."

Here's the link:

.online is too long.
I disagree. It is essentially even shorter than other tld's.
carsonline.com/cars-online.com ----- cars.online
onlinemarketing.com ----- marketing.online
onlineshopping.com ----- shopping.online
and I can go on and on with terms like: getyourdegreeonline, studyonline, onlinecasino, onlinedivorce, pharmacyonline, orderdiapersonline, flowersonline, orderflowersonline, etc etc etc.

Yes, this is why I think they are one of the best new tld's. They make sense, can fit with many keywords and in many cases are shorter than dot coms. They are also easy to remember and type.

I saw more than one established site real estate company using .online extension

What is the real estate site that was using the .online?

Out of all the gtlds .online is probably the one that has the most keywords usable for it. I really don't like most of the new gtlds, but this one might last if they don't jack the pricing scheme up to much.

Their premiums are waaaaay too expensive though. They are going to need to auction them off or lower the pricing or that stuff is going to sit on the shelf and never get developed.

They and we need their premium domains to sell to help the aftermarket. If they don't sell, the good keywords will sit and be overlooked as other gtlds come to market. The longer they sit, the longer it will take the extension to be sustainable or adopted by the general public.

Funny thing is, at first they were not premium, then one day, suddenly they were premium. I registered a good list of LLL, NNN, etc before they jacked up the pricing, but I don't know why they did that. Whoever started that Registry Premium stuff for brand new gTLDs is smoking something!

What did the NNN go up to? Can you reg for multiple years at the lower rate?

If you sell them, will the buyer have to pay the higher yearly renewal fees? If so, this may make it very hard to sell them!
This seems like a way to get domains back into the registry so they can resell them to someone else at a higher rate. I don't trust any of the new registries or gtlds for this reason.

They are going to ruin this industry! They are the new cyber squatters!

I'm just about to completely boycott all gtld and stick to .com
I don't like the new gtlds to begin with, now they are doing some quasi legal bs.

1) So did they reclassify the LLL.online market to premium or just the ones that were unregistered and still held by the registry?

2) Did you get any notice of a price hike or did you only find out when you tried to reg more LLL's?

3) What are they saying your renewal fees are going to be when they come up for renewal? Do you now have to pay $3200 per domain you already have or can you renewal at a lower rate?

These will never sell if they have to be renewed at $3200. No one will want to buy them with renewal fees like that!!!

The .online market will fail before it gets off the ground if they are going to pull this shit.

They didnt reclassify or anything like that, they just played the same game, picking what they thought were good names and made them premiums.

If you registered your lll or whatever good names at regular price, you handregged them, they wouldnt turn into premiums wih crazy renewals.

There was a very big window i mean big for everyone to get into the game before it was too late.

To be clear however, they did reserve some clear premiums before general reg was available to people.

Luckily, I got in with standard reg. fees now that all of the LLL's are gone. Looking to make a few sales when the floor price is established.

still kinda unclear on this. So there are LLL.online that renew for $20 or so, then there are LLL.online that renew for $3200. WTF is going on here?

That sounds like some jacked up crap to me. If you drop a LLL that was reg'd at regular price and then it goes back to the registry, will they "reprice" it to $3200?

How in the hell is the general public, companies, domainers, or end users going to figure this shit out????

If you are not clear on this, you probably havent been domaining long enough. .tv been doing this like forever.

I know its not ideal but the registry got in the game to make money too...

Then they changed the pricing on some domains after the fact!

There will not be a floor price if renewal pricing is all over the place. Who in their right mind will buy one from you if the renewal prices are unclear, or they hear different pricing for each domain with-in the LLL.online market place! How can a floor price be established?
