Dot is domain registration.

Hi,
Is dot is (.is) open to public or it's just for trademarks ?
I heard there are some restrictions, can anybody give me more info about it?(i.e. restrictions, price, registrars, ...)

Here is the rule for .is:

"A foreign legal entity with no Icelandic Id. No. may apply for a domain on the basis of a registered trade mark which is already registered with the Icelandic Patent Office. Only one domain may be applied for on the basis of each trade mark."

So how there are site's like what.is or who.is !

They probably have a Icelandic Id. No. The trademark rule is only for foreign entities, not Icelandic citizens.

You need local presence in Iceland + national ID number (kennitala).
Or an Icelandic TM
