I can see a number of these getting picked up - there a few others I'm surprised they accepted the high reserve and can't see selling because of it. What do you think?

Have not been there in years since I paid over $200 for a coat I could later by for $80.

I worked at the GAP in college and it was the same. Within a week or two everything gets moved to the sale rack at crazy discounts. So never buy clothing a full price, wait a bit and you'll be rewarded

Is anyone else having trouble using the WHOIS page at the CIRA?

It started acting up yesterday, and it no longer works on my Chrome or Firefox but it still works on Edge, and I think it's a cookie issue (although the CIRA cookies are set in both) or maybe some other issue like access to hardware or needing to view other things that my security protocols don't allow (like location tracking).

It's Big Brother time at the CIRA, apparently.

Either way it's pretty freaking irritating to not be able to use WHOIS on your main browsers. Anyone else have a problem?
works fine on hp chromebook

It's gotta be something weird where the CIRA wants access to my camera or location tracking, etc. and rather than giving me an error, it just doesn't work on anything but dumb-ass, security-less Edge.

Shoot, nothing works anymore, and even the TBR list just sits there spinning forever.

Just add in the PROMO code: COCAGCA011 and should work.

Try turning off location tracking and see it still works.
i always have 'Do Not Track' enabled. the sites has to request location, they did not.

Figured it out, but I wasted a good hour+ doing so.

The CIRA is now using some new tracking, ad or social media source that requires some return cookie or confirmation, and if your browser blocks it (Firefox and Chrome have a lot of new blocking features in the latest versions) then you're basically locked out from accessing CIRA data.

The ones I found were addthis.com (social media) trackcmp.net (tracking) and some ad and promo requests, all which set cookies when I fully opened it up. But at least one of those is new and my browsers were blocking it, probably for good reason.

Why the CIRA blocks you if they don't get a confirmation from a social media, advertising, or web tracking network is a totally different question.

Edge on the other hand is like an open screen door to your PC, so naturally it worked perfectly from the get-go.

The To Be Released (TBR) Weekly .CA Picks for October 2 are (finally) online:

We had another slight jump in the number of TBR domains this week, and it moved up to 7,255 listings, which represented a small weekly increase (+118) compared to the 7,137 entries of last week. When combined with the 6,782 and 7,375 entries from the two weeks before that, this translates into a new and even lower (by -132) weekly average of 7,137 TBR entries through the prior month.

Late but not Forgotten

This is going to be a tough week to guess at a first overall pick, and it'll probably be something weird like FOOTLONG.CA, ePHYSICIAN.CA, iDESSERT.CA, WPHOSTING.CA, POTCANADA.CA, or HIGHWAYMAN.CA.

But more than likely it will be NHE.CA.

A few on that list have been offered for sale to me and I decided to pass.

Surprised how fast they showed up on TBR because they were not half bad.

Yeah, I know, and it's weird how they didn't keep a few of them at registration cost.

Then again, from my research only 3 of them are worth going after, as the rest currently have zero usage in the Canadian market. You're truly just rolling the dice here.

And if you remove the LLLs, this list is bad news, like bottom of the barrel quality.

newmarketontario.ca
canadaolympicpark.ca

Gonna give you guys some advice here (something that works well for me)

I list all my domains on godaddy auctions with opening bid of $20 which is the minimum.

Then I record how many bites I get on each domain. I traditionally do not respond unless an offer is reasonable but at least I have an idea how many nibbles the domain gets and if there is any interest.

Secondly, I have all my domains forward to my lander and there I have a google analytics code so I can see how many times each domain was visited per year.

Together these two valuable bits of information can guide you when deciding which domains to drop or keep.

Hope that helps

Thanks for the advice. Do you do this for all your domains, or just your .CAs? I was always told "buy now" converts better but I understand your strategy... just not sure whether I would do this for all my .COMs. I think doing it for .CAs is smart because there are less potential end users... and i have too many .CAs to begin with (and it's hard to gage what i should keep or let drop).

GEO's again...seems to be constant lately.

Like the "hot picks" addition..

Personally, I feel "Cheech and Chong" keywords like "Pot" /ganja / weed aren'ttop choices for cannabis keywords..even "420" (which I registered/renewed cause I developed "history/backlinks/traffic" for..

I know, but I include them for completeness sake, and the only one I highlighted was the GEO PotCanada.ca. Plus, everyone knows that Cannabis is a big PR scam, as evidenced by everyone ghetto-izing it with all the Canna- xyz combos.

As for the other GEO-related domains, I'm all for it if it's short enough and not limited to a single business. Towns and counties pop up all the time, and I buy when I can, but I don't see a huge market for something like thunderbaynews.ca, unless you're going to develop it yourself.

Anyone check cannabis stocks lately they are getting hosed.

The jig is up, just another farm commodity.

Domain Shane told me that a while ago (he runs a big greenhouse plantation) that he would never touch marijuana as a crop as the price was guaranteed to drop as supplies eclipsed demand, and it would probably kill his business.

There is just no money in growing it and selling at commodity prices.

Where you want to be is a licensed seller, owning a few retail stores and making out like the Beer Store.
