So who's got a big list of and some influence on these coveted CMOs? :)

CIBC had to rename PC Financial, and during the process one major plus for the Simplii name was its (naturally) unregistered status. $10 (minus a coupon probably) and they had their TM.

I guess that's how the rich get richer.

In reality CIBC took back the financial division and forced the separation. PC Financial is still around and they only have the MasterCard division at the moment. If you notice they blocked off the cubicles but have not gotten rid of them. I predict PC financial will re-launch very similar to Canadian Tire Financial.

The simplii domain was meant to appeal to millenials and I can assure you the decision had to go through the voting process etc.

You will also notice that simplii.ca does indeed forward over to simplii.com which is an indicator that the division will be expanded to the US or even other countries.

Like I said, a certain portion of the population will think this domain is progressive and cool. I thought it was funny for about a day until I realized how nicely it could be branded.

I have to give credit.... it got me to re-think my portfolio a bit and I'm very glad I did now that other companies like freshii have come out.

I'm sitting in my truck waiting for a trailer to show up, drinking a "Bubly" lime sparkling water.

It's certainly a trend.

Possibly, and I would like to see how this all goes down. One thing is for sure, their financial services can't survive long with just a MC, especially now that PC points have been taken away from some debit transactions.

Agreed, but my point that the SIMPLI play on SIMPLY was more than millennial enough. Adding the extra "i" was like going for specifically the meth-smoking sector.

I agree with you. While I'm really fond of Maple's Priide, I'm not as sold on the ii in simplii. It's my opinion that one would've sufficed. As always, it's contextual.

I, personally, own Happi - which I think works really well. Putting the emphasis of happiness on oneself - I.

Anyone have any experience with 'Adult' .ca names? I have Lewd.ca and was thinking about developing but I have no experience in that realm. I was thinking more along the lines of dirty jokes, memes, etc... not actual porn, but not sure about ads and stuff like that. Anyway, any advice or pointers, examples, etc... are greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I have 4sex.ca and hate to admit it but it's not a domain I am proud of. I haD second thoughts when I purchased it because I have a very business like website and I often considered hiding the domain. All in all I think the .ca market is probably pretty weak for sex domains but one beacon would be the exchange rate. If one hypes that membership rates are in CAD and charged inside Canada then a site might pick up some traffic.

That said.... does anyone buy memberships or anything from these sites?

My thought was not so much around membership but more around ad revenue, or other sort of click-through revenue. I think that people are more interested in 'real people' and what they do, not actors as much. So I was thinking jokes and memes, gifs, etc... hoping to drive comments and clicks, kind of like the chive but on a smaller scale and mostly directed towards Canadian content... just a thought lol who knows....

I, too, own an adult domain in .ca - BuyPorn.

I'm not convinced by the utility of such domains in ccTLD, but it was worth the $2 gamble for an EMD.

I know nothing about Crypto, but I like those 2 names.
They lend themselves well to data encryption or password storage or cloud security I think.
