I can see a number of these getting picked up - there a few others I'm surprised they accepted the high reserve and can't see selling because of it. What do you think?

I came across this yesterday. It was registered in May 2018. Didn't check the drop list, assumed it was a hand reg.

I see 4.99 in Canuck dollars which google tells me is 3.80 USD right now.
Did I miss that sale or is it just better to checkout in USD
I just double-checked..here is a screenshot

Looks like its better to not be a discount member and to use USD at checkout for Canadians

I get $10.99 no discount because I am in the discount club.

If I make a new account I get $4.99 CAD

Looks like its better to not be a discount member and to use USD at checkout for Canadians
Are you guys seeing the same page (beigning to think that even though I am not signed in..it is recognizing my IP...)
Are you going to godaddy.ca?

I finally figured it all out..... it's the same old deal

When you actually purchase it gives the $4.99 but you have to purchase two years and then they add $19.99 for the second year. If you select one year it goes right back up.

No sale here.... Can anyone try a 1 year purchase to see what happens, for me both logged in and incognito the deal goes away.

Very unfortunate but no deal here.

Offer is for a Multi year registration

"1st year $2.99
2+ years $16.99"

Promo Code: CJC1OFF30

Anyway, just got a few at that price...going transfer out after a while

You are fortunate because I cannot get it logged in to my account or incognito as a new user.

godaddy has so many stipulations and restrictions, based on your previous purchases, only one domain at that price, must be a 2 yr reg so $2.99 for the first year and then $19.00 for the second year, or if you ate an egg salad sandwich on Tuesday while wearing a red sweater under a full moon then you are eligible for the discount.

Nice name!!! ...you sure are getting into a great niche...maybe contact "account manager" or "chat"....

Here a tool that I used to use..https://www.bestwordlist.com/f/e/2/5letterwordsendinger.htm just remove "e"

OMG.... that was on my reg list and was not supposed to show.

Phew... just submitted it

I have all of them

bikr.ca
runr.ca
cycl.ca
hikr.ca

dozens and dozens similar, I almost spilled my coffee when you posted that. :xf.laugh::xf.laugh::xf.laugh:

What does everyone else think of this recent trend of buying up 100% of the LLL.CA domains on the TBR list - I keep track of .CA sales and I am not seeing a commensurate spike in sales data supporting this (if anything LLL.CA sales are down)... troubling or just a temporary spike?

LLL are a great long term investment.. cause of rarity
NNN are better!
My opinion/experience

It's been done by other domainers and dropped after a number of years.
Oddball combinations are rare to sell, I pick very carefully and have switched to 4 letters because I can make nice abbreviations like the one I just registered today.... bikr.ca

This trend does seem to come back like a bad penny every few years, but the difference today is that it's happening on the TBR list (at $$$$) rather than someone utilizing a cheap .CA sale at GD or Rebel to mass hoard them all (and then drop them a year later).

And I'm not talking ABC.CA here, but low-end listings similar to ZXY.CA are now going high on the TBR list and at premium prices. I also can't remember how many weeks in a row that 100% of the available LLL domains were selected during the initial TBR run.

Very strange.

True..need a different mind set/busine$$ plan. I usually reg my ccc for five years at least! Sure not for the "day trader" type of investor
