I can see a number of these getting picked up - there a few others I'm surprised they accepted the high reserve and can't see selling because of it. What do you think?

Well, in that case, i'm thinking of selling that list to a Canadian domainer, how much a fair price for 3L domains available to hand register would be? Per domain.

that all depends on the letters. 3L .cas are not as liquid as some other extensions. they are probably available to hand register for a reason.

I have found about 30 3L domains available in .ca and i'm thinking to flip them

And exactly who would you flip them to?

Only the cream of the crop LLL.ca domains sell, and even then, usually not for serious money. Hand-registering the junk LLLs is just a massive waste of money.

If they're available to handregister, then they're probably not that good to begin with.

Plus, if all you're selling is a list, then that info can be generated elsewhere for free

In honor of this conversation, I decided to hand-reg the Top 8 (in my opinion) LLL.ca's using the Rebel .CA deal before it ends today. These are 110% one-year rentals only and unless a one sells, I am not renewing any of them. I can also outbound with impunity.

The remaining LLLs were a very motley crew, but I did find a couple of 3-letters that maybe shouldn't have been left in the open (relatively speaking), along with the usual J, Q (unless it's Quebec), X, Y, and Z beauties.

Obviously, I just tossed $32 out on the road, but hey, you never know.

It looks like MyID robbed the store again this week, and I don't think Siber got any of the top domains. Even NamesPro stole prescription.ca away from them. Talk about rubbing salt in the wound.

Their ill-fated move away from the Siber offices in Ottawa to WHC Montreal is certainly not doing them any TBR favors, as when you're dealing in micro-seconds, geographical proximity does matter. MyID is located in Toronto, and MyID is just better at this game.

Back when POOL used to be heavy into the TBR and won a ton of the top names, their servers were in Rebel HQ, right next door to the CIRA. No joke.

It was even worse than I thought...

MyID grabbed the first 14 domains straight, and 18 of 19, while it took Siber/WHC until Pick 20 to make an appearance. This performance was UG-LEE and due to my antipathy towards MyID, I ended up winning nothing and being at auction for only ONE domain.

My impression is that Sedo is the best place to list .ca for sale. Agree/Disagree? Thanks!

I totally disagree and if you're selling .CA I would highly, highly recommend going with a true Registrar that can handle the transfer seamlessly and complete the transaction in under a minute. I've had a .CA sit for over a month on Sedo, waiting for the passive-aggressive buyer to actually transfer the domain. I'm currently in the middle of another one right now, quick BIN, immediate payment, but.... nothing after I sent the transfer code, and all Sedo can do is "contact the buyer" every 3-5 days.

Sedo is NOT a registrar and has no ability to control or move .CA domains, so you are literally at the mercy of the buyer and some of them know it, and jack you around.

GoDaddy is a great alternative (I sell and get the money the next day), but you'll pay an extra 5% for the quick processing and payment. Sedo does zip for its 15% when it comes to .CA and they are very slow, so if you want barebones support, maybe try DAN for 9%.

8 of the last 10 sales reported on namebio were sedo. BlackMold sold on daaz for around 1k
I have sold .ca on sedo. List everywhere though, just dont park at sedo.

That's what I meant - where you drive traffic is where you will sell 99% of the time... except GD - it has inherent traffic and I sell at least as much there as my forwarded traffic on Sedo.

List everywhere, but send traffic to a Registrar that can handle .CA. If I make an inadvertent sale at Sedo going forward, that's just the cost of doing business.

And Sedo is the only marketplace that releases weekly sales data specifically on ccTLDs, and if GD sent out a "$2K or higher" ccTLD list it would easily dwarf that of Sedo's. I think the only .CA that's on NB recently from GD is one I manually added.

The ONLY reason not to forward every .CA you own to GD is the 20% commission - otherwise it's a slam dunk.

Not the ONLY reason. I dont use them because i want google analytics and visitor stats. Visitors from social media is important, knowing that is another reason. Lots more too

To me, a lot of that analytics stuff is just noise and and a potential rabbit hole to waste time on, though I do agree that GD should display visits on the main screen. Then again, if someone wants to buy a domain from you, they'll find it no matter what platform it's on.

What I really need are seamless sales, quick domain transfers with zero input or reliance on the buyer, and ultra-fast payment processing. GD could certainly improve on some things, and that 20% is a tough cut, but otherwise I'm always a happy camper when a GD sale comes through - I know it's going to be hassle-free.

When you post a domain for sale on multiple sites, do you post Make Offer or Buy Now? Any advice appreciated.

I think you would have to choose one place as buy now or else you could run into issues if multiple people hit the buy now at different sites.

Only ever put a BIN on one marketplace pet domain, otherwise you can get into trouble.

Other than that, experiment and see what works for you.

Wow, MyID absolutely robbed the TBR store this week, but there was only a very thin layer of cream, so it's hardly surprising that WHC/Siber et al got taken out behind the shed for a sound beating.

Oh well, at least it's a cheap week for me. :xf.grin::xf.grin:

This week's TBR list was mostly junk, but we still had a massive 268 domains selected... yes 268!

A portion of these (over a third) seemed to be from one bidder, who spent a ton of money using a "toss them on the wall and see what sticks" domain ordering strategy.

I hope that works out for them... I really do. :xf.grin::xf.wink:

P.S. Not a single .CA sale on this week's DN Sales List:

Hi All, I have about 50 .ca domains - mostly related to the Toronto market. Anyone willing to share info on what they have?

Okay, this supposed "TBR Battle" is getting pretty ugly, as MyID totally dominated Siber/WHC last week, and this week, MyID took the first 23 (yes, twenty-three) picks before Siber finally woke up from their stupor. And the other TBR registrars do even worse, not getting into it until the 40's and 50's at best.

The TBR is turning into a joke and if you want one of the top domains, you must (and I repeat *must*) use MyID or resolve yourself to picking up scraps.

Honestly, looking at the TBR results is like watching Mike Tyson (in his prime) beating up preschoolers.

Siber has better pricing and the tug of war between them and Myid goes a little back and forth but the pickings have been getting slimmer all the time. Couple of weeks ago I didn't order anything and almost did the same last week. Hardly anything worth keeping long term. I suppose it will take a while for this pandemic to create whole portfolio drops :) a little dark humour for the clown times we are living in:)
