I can see a number of these getting picked up - there a few others I'm surprised they accepted the high reserve and can't see selling because of it. What do you think?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Just picked up Dimple.ca - thought it was 'cute' ;) - About 19,800,000 results in Google...

Thoughts?

Finally wrapping up the end user sale I have been working on for the last few weeks... hopefully will be done early next week.

Anyone else selling anything these days or finding a place with a little bit of interest? Maybe we need a facebook group for .ca domainers??

I had an inquiry for a .ca this week but imo the offer was a complete lowball...I asked for a serious offer but have had no response..

I have, thanx, but like usual everyone in general forum wouldn't pay $10 for a domain, they will wait until it drops and pay $50=$75 on the TBR it seems. I was hoping that the .ca forum would connect with someone interested in .ca's.
Agreed! Time and again we'll monitor names we've let drop go to auction and watch as the price goes well past our previously posted sale price…

I recently picked up netbooks . Ca for a good price.

I figured it would make a good Amazon affiliate site.

This is one of the most frustrating / stupid things that really sticks with me, you can list a name on all the major forums, at low low prices, even seen names on here for $5 -$25 and it's silent --- Crickets ---- but as soon as the TBR hits the same names that were offered up a great prices are picked up on the Drop/auction for $75 +++ makes no sense.. I had 3-4 names picked up on this drop, now 4x75 is only $300 that's still renewal fees for 30 domains.

I feel a little sorry and for the people who missed out on a good deal, and the chance to support domainers, as the majority of us ( definitely myself ) run a deficit or a cost neutral business/hobby.

Yep... I have a bunch of names up right now for $3 each. They expire next month and I am trimming my portfolio.

I bet half at least will be picked up on TBR for way more than anyone needs to pay for them...

I think it shows you that the majority of buyers don't participate on forums

It's very true. This one has always had less .ca activity. Mostly end user sales for .ca these days

Bigger audience perhaps?
You have to figure, a lot more people moniter droplists/auctions than they do the actual name. So once it goes to auction, visibility just balloons.

I recently bought one on this forum because the seller posted a link from this thread to the for sale listing, but I don't actually look at the for sale threads anymore because I've seen so many crap names. It's usually more productive to look at the TBR. Time is money too.

Hey Guys,

I realize it's not a .ca, but since this is where my audience is...

I picked up the domain hack "Looni.es".

...What do you think? ...Any development ideas?

:)

if one look for "Toronto" @ NameBio, only one result with .CA!!!

Does this mean Canadians really prefer .com over .ca?

Doesn't every country prefer .com over their cctld?

:-P

No not all countries. Germany Australia UK New Zealand to name a few seem to prefer their own country code domains and I believe Canada is following not far behind as well. Many Canadians like to use and visit .ca sites

"Lets Make Canada Great Again" I think a similar comment south of the border has helped Canadians refocus on shopping local / shopping in Canada so I know i find myself looking to the .ca when buying products.

I'm now liquidating a bunch of .ca for $20 each as I can't afford to hold them any longer. There are some nice gems but I just don't have the capital right now to cover all my renewals so I have to make some decisions :( Sad to see them go but it has to be done

Only if I was going to develop it
