I can see a number of these getting picked up - there a few others I'm surprised they accepted the high reserve and can't see selling because of it. What do you think?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
All this discussion about CIRA, domains taken back, etc sure doesn't me to invest in ca's..thinking any lurkers might feel the.same.
Well an end used, really has no clue all of this is going on, but you make a good point. I think they are going go to have to take the localized restrictions off soon enough, to get some organic growth. There are just so many two keyword terms sitting unregistered.

What is the registrar? Are they Sibername? or someone else too?

They are at MYID. I had 11 auctions at Sibername when I went to bed. Now they are gone.

Looks like MYID ran the table again.

What bothers me most about the CIRA is their almost-total lack of software development, testing and implementation skills.

...and communication.

Usually auctions end Thursday, I guess because a week was missed, an extra day was added? I don’t quite understand the logic, maybe increased inventory?

Since Sibername hit 73 on the TBR scale, it makes you wonder how many were actually taken this week.

I'd guess over 300 no problem, and over the past few months Sibername has consistently represented ~21% of the entire TBR, so extrapolated this week that would result in a TBR total of...

347

Then again, the higher the TBR run total, the higher the percentage that Sibername represents (2 weeks ago it was 24%) so the number may even be larger.

The results should actually be released by CIRA and posred on the website the following day.

50 or 60 emails to [email protected] might move that along.

Really? That's the new format going forward?

Anyone pick up anything good this week in the leftover pile?

I grabbed a few, but it's tough sledding using the WHOIS rather than the TBR list.

But to be honest, it was picked pretty clean and even most of the ultra-low-end LLLs were snagged. Seemed to be a bit of a feeding frenzy this week.

i ignored the release altogether and instead concentrated on regging place names from around the country.the CIRA snaffu was still in place last night and i managed to reg about 6 great names.and they they were locked right away, darn it.they don't just restrict city, town and the like, but also actual place names themselves.that being said, one did squeak through and it was a pretty good one too.CIRA even sent me an email congratulating me on my reg!with the others, some are pending create and some are pending delete.it is such a snaffu that i had one regd at gd and ns at the same time!

Since there are some serious investors and legit complents listed in this thread, I hope this thread is watched/lurked.

No problem - just thought it would be interesting to see what you managed to get that was good enough to deserve a CIRA congratulations for!

you're subconsciously preparing to take on CIRA(y)

gd is locking them as soon as i reg 'em.they must have a list.you would think they would block the transaction altogether.

They owe me a small fortune

Canspace is right on the ball, even with the credits.

This is why I never touched any of this stuff, as most Registrars play the "credit" game, and I really have no use for hundreds of dollars in locked-in credits when I could still have hundreds of dollars in my pocket.

The only time I ever try a "you know you're not going to get it" deal is with a large retailer who usually offers gift cards or coupons because they don't want to piss everyone off - the CIRA doesn't give a rat's ass about what anyone thinks because they have a monopoly.
