I can see a number of these getting picked up - there a few others I'm surprised they accepted the high reserve and can't see selling because of it. What do you think?

no worry. we're all here to learn.

its a good thing to know that parking revenue cannot be negative. in other words, they cannot take from you more than you made with them. but they definitely can take back what you made with them through chargebacks.. if there are some issues wth your parked names.. like clicking on your own ads etc etc.. cheers.

Looks like the cost of transferring .ca to godaddy has gone up. Recently. It was C$10.99 few days ago

Domain Transfer
Transfer your .com domain for C$10.99.
Already own a .ca? Transfer it for C$14.88. One year extension included**

GoDaddy is absolutely the last place I would transfer a .ca name.
Although they have other services they provide that have value, handling the Registrant/Registrar changes on a .ca transfer they handle miserably.
I still get many renewal notices for names I sold up to 4 years ago, which means I am still listed in one of the registrant fields.
I have come to the point that unless I know that the person buying the .ca name from me is aware/understands this I won't do a transfer to GD. Just too much hassle.

It's definitely not a great week but there are a few that are pretty good, and it's not everyday you see a single-word LLL.

Went to do my first transfers out of namespro.ca and find out I must contact support for auth code and to unlock domain.:xf.eek: Cousin of Network Solutions?

Always been like that... but support has always been right on it in my 14 years with them

Went to do my first transfers out of namespro.ca and find out I must contact support for auth code and to unlock domain.

I actually like that as an extra security step, and that every transfer has to be initiated by a Support Ticket.

Now, NamesPro is very fast and doesn't use that as a method of halting transfers and creating a "domain for life" (like some other .CA TBR Registrars) so it's always worked for me.

Codes received so that was pleasant experience.
True with extra layer of security

Namespro support is top notch! I requested authcodes on a holiday once and they got back to me in like 4 minutes.

I don't keep my .CA's anywhere else.

Daddy wants $14.99 to transfer . Ca to him now was 10.99 last month
Whc.ca is still 9.99 but that prob change soon.
I am into march renewals now, stay ahead of the curve

That is one of those domain names whose value changes drastically with the addition of an "S".

still bothers me a bit.... I post domains for cheap... and not one comment in the cctld section, I post on all forums only to see them picked up on the TBR. I wish there was a way to find the people who do not participate in the forums, are not end users but are in that "in between" area who pick up these names for more than asking price in the forums.

That's the real key, but there are really 2 problems:

1) Domainers don't like buying from other domainers.
2) The TBR is about potential not reality.

For example, I dropped 2 domains that both went in the Top 15 this week. To me, these are tough sales with no real buyer path, but seeing those on the list probably got people thinking of sugarplum fairies and how much money they'll make.

In other words, if someone sees a fellow domainer selling a .CA they've held for a while, they see failure and run away, but that same name on the TBR list is suddenly filled with potential and the promise of riches to the right buyer.

Just takes time, .ca is strong and growing!

Same here. Who knows about TBR but doesn't know about the various forums and marketplaces? Pretty odd if you think about it

Either last TBR list or the one before (cannot remember) I noted payr(dot)ca and put it on my list to register next time I bought a group of domains.

I registered it today and was surprised it was still available.

Something inside my gut told me that could end up being a viable business name some day.
It meets all my criteria, short, positive meaning, can be used for business.

Surprised it slipped past some of the sharper .ca fans here.

Saw it, not a big deal, payment domains need to be on more global extensions, to niche.

Sure everything has a chance, but given what is available on the drops these days you need to be very disciplined otherwise you will just build a renewal portfolio.
