I've been using Gmail since 2004 and since i found it fast & easy to use I started using it for most of my purposes. I havent used it for any unusual purposes like Google Drive or anything. I haven't used it in even the smallest unusual manner. Not even POP3.

I've been using this for quite some commercial purposes & I get lotsa mails on this everyday. Noe when i tried to login to gmail 2 days back I got an error:

"Sorry, your account has been disabled. For more information about Google Accounts, please consult our Help Center at http://www.google.com/support/accounts/."

I contacted them through the contact form, and they sent an automated reply to check my user id & password. I replied them again telling my problem. But dint get any reply from them. I contacted them 4-5 times already regarding this but havent received any response from them.

When some of my clients sent me mail, it is bouncing. It totally sucks. Disabling someone's mail without reason & keeping silent for multiple queries. It sucks basically & I wanna quit Gmail. But I need access to the account to change the email contact for some of my memberships at various sites.

Haven't seen something like this with yahoo / MSN. Be warned. Any day they can disable your email without reason and it'd affect your business.

i was using gmail until they banned my account to. they just said that it was a loging error. i stuck to hotmail

Sorry to hear that, Smooth. Remember Gmail (and yahoo free and MSN free) is free email service, you shouldn't trust them with your important business emails. I use my domain as email forwarder to send all my mails to several email providers. They are either IMAP or POP. So I always have ways to retrieve my mails. If anyone of them gone, I can always change my target email to elsewhere. Hope this helps.

I have been using gmail for ages without flaw. If they suspend my account for no reason i will be will be so upset.

I use @gmail.com and @dnoa.net (GMail hosted domain) for a backup to email addresses at my domain or ISP.

If you conduct business online, I'd recommend getting an email address at your domain. GoDaddy'll give you 25 MB free. Or, you can forward email at your domain to your ISP for the professional look.

As fab said. I am sorry to say having gmail as a business email is not a GOOD idea at all. Keep to a paided service (Your own server, or a ISP or something).

As for the disabling I am sorry to hear about that. Google isn't the best for support. But than again most of the goliaths are known for not having that great of support. I guess it is a pray you don't need support :D..

The funny part is, Google is finding new ways to screw ppl. Have we ever heard of companies disabling email accounts without serious reason?!

Others providers delete your mails if ur account is inactive for 30 or 45 days. But Google seems to find new ways to screw..

It doesn't make sense for them to disable accounts at will, since they are loosing a potential revenue stream from the contextual ads displayed besides messages.

I think they probably detected invalid login attempts and disabled it for that reason. I agree, google has not good reason to disabled your e-mail inless it is meant to protect you from something. Let us know if you find out any more details.

Is this really a warning,scam,or alert I was thinking something was going on with gmail, I have used them for awhile with no problems.

I have also been using Gmail since it came out in 2004 and so far so good but I do use my domain for important emails so even if gmail disables my account i'll be very upset but I can around it.

I seriously dont understand what to do now to recover so much data. I need the account atleast for a day. They aren't responding to several contact mails. Any suggestions??

Maybe try calling them? Aside from that there isn't much that you can do. If they aren't responding to emails, that just leaves phone or snail mail. I HIGHLY doubt they would respond to snail mail :lol: Keep up posted ;)

My account there was hacked over a year ago there...
