DomainTools... the old whois.sc... is confusing me

Many of the names I look up simply do not work. A blank white page shows up and I cannot access the whois information. I've tested several of my own domains and a few have worked.

The few that have, alarmed me when I read a specific line. It says Status - Transfer Prohibited. Does this mean I cannot sell it and transfer it, or merely that it cannot be transferred unless I change this setting with my registrar? (dotster)

I'm dyyyyyyyying to know.

Thanks in advance.

What happens offline isn't necessarily reflected online.

You can still sell the domain name to anyone. Afterwards, you transfer the
ownership and control of the name to that buyer.

Anyway, Status - Transfer Prohibited means you can't transfer the registration
to another registrar unless it's unlocked. Your registrar should give you access
to do that.

Verisign announced last year they'll finally be using the EPP system currently
used by the .org, .info, and .biz Registries. To think they started the system.

DomainTools (formerly whois.sc) is working fine for me.

 I guess they'll wait for that pay raise before they get around to it.

For those who are still confused:
EPP vs. RRP status codes side by side - scroll down the page.
