DomainSponsor vs Bodis

Ok. We've now had 2 months of Bodis parking. So I thought I'd analyze my worst performing CTR's at Bodis. None of these are premium names. They get between 1-5 visitors a day, mostly at the low end. They were previously at DomainSponsor and I chose to move these domains because they were getting visitors but CTR/RPC were mostly low.

At DS they were all using the Berlin lander and unoptimized. At Bodis they were all unoptimized, giving a white page of links. The stats at DS were from 1st Jan until the time I transferred them (approx 7 months) and the stats at Bodis were from the time I transferred them over to today (approx 2 months)

Of the 50 domains moved, Half were getting CTR of 11% and under at Bodis. These were the domains I analyzed. Of those 25, 18 were getting better CTR at Domain Sponsor. The average RPC on these 25 at DS was 0.15 (with only 5 domains over 0.20). The average RPC on these 25 at Bodis was 0.30. 10 of the 25 domains performed better overall at DS. Most of the 10 domains which performed better at DS had a very low CTR at Bodis (5% and below). Which could means the keyword was inappropriate for those domains at Bodis. Overall, of these 25 domains with low Bodis CTR (11% and below), they performed significantly better at Bodis.

Conclusion. Move ALL my domains with RPC of less than 0.20 from DS to Bodis. Check the keywords for the very low CTRs (5% and below) at Bodis. Check again in another 2 months.

Hope that helps somebody.

Now can you imagine if you start customizing them. Surely they will get even better results! Hey stub, if you have the time then it may be worth it!

My experiments with Bodis customized sites is that they are better than those plain old white landers. In fact just yesterday I noticed that quite a number of my sites are Alexa ranked and I've only checked a few of them. That surprised me!

Hi Gil,

I've been pretty happy with the results of most of my non-customized pages. I have many more domains like the 50 I already transferred. I appreciate that customization is likely to give me a higher return. However, at this time, I'm only transferring those domains which have low volume/revenues (the vast majority of my domains). My time is extremely tight as it is. I think I'll save my customization efforts for when I move some of my higher volume/revenue domains. Thanks for the suggestion. My point is, you can get improved returns with minimal effort, as is.

Lack of time is always a problem. Sometimes I wish the day had 48 hours. But on second thoughts that may not be a such a good idea as we would also have more stress to cope with.
