Is there any problems that can arise from registering domains that have profane word(s) in them?

It depends on the TLD. For example if you register a .us domain containing one of the 7 so-called dirty words, Neustar could put the domain on hold forever.

When it comes to profane words, I'd suggest registering them in .COM, .NET, and .ORG gTLDs only.

ccTLDs (country TLDs) and some newer gTLDs are potentially risky ...

The so-called "land of the free" United States censors profane words in its .US ccTLD, as the poster above mentioned - and I'll further add that I'm one of those folks who has a .US domain stuck in perpetual limbo - F*ckCensorship.US ... yes, really!
