hello, I own a couple of domain names that include a politician's name, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to sell them, or even if I can get in trouble for owning them (it was a newbie thing, I thought it was a good idea to buy them, but now I'm not so sure...), when I tried to sell them on Sedo, the system immediately rejected the domains :-/

domains are ISupportObama.org and Obama4President.net

was it a good idea? any advice will be welcome, thank you!

oh, and please don't get "political" about it, if the president was from the other party I would have bought the same domains with his/her name, and I would be as worried as I am now :p

These type of domains are a total waste of money imo. I don't think you can get in trouble for having them as long as you are not profiting off them.

I'm no expert on the legal side of things, so it might be best to wait until some senior members chime in.

sk, i don't think they are a "total' waste of money since in the recent past the obama administration bought some obama related domains :)

But then you have the possible TradeMark issue what is a big risk to deal with...

ytodoeso, do some research and just make sure you are not stepping on someones foot, imho it is not worth it to register TM names..

cheers

P.S: maybe you get a Pic with O.s signature when you donate the names to him :)
