Add me to the list of eager domainers who only lost money and a ridiculous amount of time chasing something I could never find...a profit.

Thankfully, I realize that I'm not cut out for this business / hobby and am leaving with acceptable loses.

Good luck to newbies and good luck to those already succeeding....I've sold off nearly everything and I am outa here!

What's good for one person doesn't mean it's good for another, no matter how many times you try. Leaving domaining doesn't mean you have failed; it just means you're moving to something else where you will be more successful.

Every time one door closes, another opens. Even if it's just to take another shot at the same thing. Never say never!

I might also be a failure because I never sold any of mine. Even cancelled a few!

Do it as a hobby with finite limits. Budget $100. for a year and spend it wisely. Maybe like I do. Nah! Then you would lose fer sure!

I am sorry to here that too.Yes ,we are all in in for different reasons,I agree that you need to gain knowledge and a real understanding of everything involved as you work slowly and progresively in this business .You also have to have the available funds,patience,to be able to be successful in many avenues of this business.If it is not for you ,then it is good that you realized that,but if you really have a passion for it(if its not all about fast,easy money)then you should slow down,invest more cautiously,expect less so soon,be more realistic,learn alot,have fun and slowly but surely you will have turned it all around and you will have achieved success.GoodLuck To You My Friend.

These words were said by you in post 24 of yaadoo's thread about domainer's screwing each other over. Which is it dude, are .in and co.in a good investment or not. Because if what you're saying in this thread about never making a profit is true then it means you were misleading people about how good an investment .ins and co.in are . If thats the case then the boards are better off without you.

How about changing routine schedules?

1. Get a full-time non-domaining regular job for living.

2. Learn, learn, and learn good experiences and skills in domaining and online business, if you are still interested.

3. Cut off "poor" domains in the portfolio, make a safe budget to seize upon only valuable domains that can be resold easily with profits on the market, in your spare time.

4. Please remember, domaining should not be your daily full-time job. There are more important things than domaining in life.

You learn from your mistakes. Being a small time domainer, I lost a few hundred in my first few years of domaining. it wasn't until the big LLLL.com boom that my work had finally paid off. Lucky for me, I had invested a few hundred a few years before the buyout. Since then, I've been doing fine. I've learned where to invest my money and time. Don't give up yet. You just made a few mistakes.

i think the best advice has been to develope something ??? these are early days for the internet ..... could be fun to still have some involvement

the hardest part for newbies or any domianer for that matter is seeing ALL the cash that the seasoned people are making and it seems all to easy for them, but they paid the price and were patient not too mention having good timing is a great asset. Rick S hung on to ireports for 10 years and he made $750k minus reg fees.

Thats an exception of course but when you read about all the other millionaires from domaining its tough to stick it out when you put your heart and soul not too mention the cash and time into it and no returns.

I FINALLY made a decent sale thru Sedo after 7 months+ and still have not recouped my $$$$ as yet. With the sweeping changes in parking /arbitrage/ adsense etc etc within the last year domaining took a major beating and newbies were caught in this action on the downside.

Its a sharktank and you have to be one to become one it seems. Its also a VERY incestuous business so these top domainers that are the hiearchy who developed this game take care of their own so to speak and feed off each other (see domain shark under dictionary and you wil find a host of them, lol) Outsiders have little chance to get into their clique circle unless you have the $$$$$$ to buy generics and trade with the big dogs. Juts read the blog posts of these people and you can see how chummy they are.

I quit every day and jump back in hoping for a break. Its your life bud and your sanity. Do what feels right for you.
