Add me to the list of eager domainers who only lost money and a ridiculous amount of time chasing something I could never find...a profit.

Thankfully, I realize that I'm not cut out for this business / hobby and am leaving with acceptable loses.

Good luck to newbies and good luck to those already succeeding....I've sold off nearly everything and I am outa here!

TP :D

I've stayed low and I've not made a loss yet.
I'm wary of going for the bigger stuff, LLLL.com's + dictionary words because of loss.

Oh well, I'll stay low and keep at my 150% profit margins :)

Also bye :D

Don't give up.
It's best to learn from your mistake and take calculated risk when acquiring new domains.

Im so very sorry it did not work out for you. Many come with the image of big $$ from domaining but few make a living from it..

For me its a hobby and a kinda social thing :D

Good luck in whatever you do and take care.....

Im terribly sorry to hear that!!!
You are not a failure....
unless you COMPLETELY give up.
Then it is considered a failure.
What you have done is had a learning lesson.
Use that to...
What talents do you have,
can you create websites?
Can you write articles for others?
You can Blog about your experiences!
The glass is not half empty!
If you have a passion for this biz,
just take another route!

Good Luck to you!

I have lost a great amount of money last year (it was a failure)

but this year my gains exceeded lost from last year.

Failure is the only vehicle to success.

Good luck to you

I like domaining as a hobby, if I make some $$ then cool. If I were doing this as a business-needing profit, then having a team of people would be best, doing content, drumming up traffic/leads.
Every domain name is unique, value is a perspective.

Its difficult.

Its difficult to start anew at this time and stage of domaining. I have made a decent profit, but having no backup of yesteryear profits being a comparative newbie, its risky doing every big purchase.

Best option is to start developing one of the domains you have. Learn to make small websites, there are a lot of free ebooks out there to help. Learn the skill, which wont cost u anything other than time. Meanwhile you can follow the domain market and probably learn to adapt and make profit :)

Dont completely leave this business. You might see domainers who have lost a lot but who still stick around, getting their break one day! Just dont buy a lot; if u buy anything, try developing it.

All the best in any decision you take though :)

Good luck with your future endeavors. I was wondering why all your domains were selling at a loss recently.

You should have stuck with dotcom. I can only assume you fell under the spell of the degenerates who pump pitiful extentions that nobody has ever heard of. Always remember....if at first you don't succeed...failure may be your thing!

The are more deals now than ever before.

As pointed out, this isnt the kind of industry you can jump into and start doing well immediately. Lessons need to be learned and sometimes even paid for. Good luck with whatever direction you decide to go.

very well said Krossat and godolphin!!! :)

dont give up tpruby :)
the main problem is people think you just have to start without knowing what you are doing
they see all the great names reg'd and people talking how much they sold these great names for and as we cant afford them we reg a four word dot com mixing four great words but without any sense when they are together and we do it 20, 30 even 50 times making us spend hundreds of dollars with bad names

the right move would be to reg here, read everything you can even if it takes you three months and you have to be aware domaining demands time

many people here took great lessons from their mistakes (including myself) and what i have learnt was when, where and how much to invest

there are many possibilities even for those who dont have much money but for these ones you need a very good homework to have a good name

right now, the best advice for you was given by Krossat; develop some names you have to make a profit
think twice before leaving domaining as you will surely find great opportunities here

good luck!!! :)
