-Intended use (domain discussion, buy, sell, trade forum) similar to this one. I figure the main source of income would come from affiliates.

The same reason why more than 1 registrars exist.

Same principle as craigslist.com, and backpage.com.. very similar. both worth something.. one more than the other obviously... but each of those sites would profit atleast a million.

I just think, that for such an endeavor the people in charge would take a more brandable, 2-word domain or 1-word with a suffix.
