DomainEasy - Founder Message

I wanted to do a small post about DomainEasy as I am the founder and am very proud of the amount of work we have put inot the project so far but also to give a bit of the back story.

i’ve been a domain seller for over 20 years, but domains have always been a side venture while I focused on other businesses. I relied heavily on brokers and platforms like DomainNameSales to manage my portfolio, allowing me the freedom to focus on my primary ventures and spend more time with my family.

In recent years, I served as the Chief Revenue Officer for a large crypto exchange in Canada. After the company went public, I decided to take a step back and explore my next move. It was around this time that I learned DomainNameSales would be shutting down. I searched for a comparable platform but couldn’t find one that met my needs. So, I reached out to friends and fellow domain investors, and that’s how DomainEasy was born.

At DomainEasy, we’ve combined some of the best features from DomainNameSales—professional lead management, templated responses, and broker collaboration—and enhanced them with a modern tech stack and user interface. Plus, we added new features like "Buy It Now," "Make an Offer," and "Lease to Own."

Over the last year, we’ve focused on building a platform for three key user groups:

  • Buyers: We’re simplifying the buying process to cater to your needs. Buyers are our top priority, and we continually adapt the platform for you.
  • Sellers: Our mission is to help you sell more domains with less effort.
  • Brokers/Brokerages: DomainEasy offers flexibility. You can work with multiple brokers across your portfolio, or choose to manage everything yourself.
We’ve kept a few features under wraps while we focus on the core launch, "For Sale by Owner." The essence of DomainEasy is choice—we give domain owners the freedom to choose the services that best suit their needs. Whether you want to change your nameservers, work with different brokers, or sell independently, DomainEasy empowers you to make the decision that works for you.

Stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks, particularly on how brokers and brokerages can get the most out of our platform. We can’t wait to share what’s next!

Feel free to reach out to me on LinkedIn or of course NamePros

Hi Sam,
Can you tell us how the sales payment will be made out to the seller?
Currently I do not see option of updating Bank details/ Paypal details to receive sales proceeds.

I'm trying out your service now. Why do you force me to accept offers? I listed a BIN - and I cannot remove MO. I must place a MO at least $1 less than BIN. This seems silly to me... can't we just have BINs?

Does it make sense to move it ?

My question exactly. I just asked it here.

Is there a way to remove "DomainEasy" from the header? You do not have a known brand so this does not instill confidence (yet). I understand you want some branding but it should be at the bottom - not top left corner - it's too obvious imo and will not assist STRs

I understood that development is actively working on a solution to make listing BIN Only domains easier.

There's this workaround in the meantime.

Select domains you want to edit. Then briefly move the MO slider ON and OFF, and make sure the BIN slider is ON. That will remove the MO option for those domains. Unfortunately you'll have to set domain pricing again in the bulk edit, even while BIN price is already present. So make sure to only bulk edit domains that have the same price this way (in the workaround).

Thanks. While that solves one issue, I've decided I cannot accept the branding the way it is on the DomainEasy landers and am now looking at Aftermarket landers which are the closest for my needs. I realize DomainEasy's business model is a bit different than the others - they are trying to be a marketplace, rather than solely offer landers. So I get why they want this branding - but if they are solely going the route of only offering payments through them (and not also via escrow, GoDaddy, Sedo, etc), I don't think it's going to work as businesses aren't going to trust (en masse) a new entity with significant purchase amounts. If they open up alternate payment options - then I'll take a re-look.

Bodis omits branding but can't figure out the adblocker thing. A non-starter.

NP landers also omit branding but I can't get around the dark/drab look and feel. I do understand they are working on new designs though and that may make them more useful for me. Will wait to see what they come up with.

Waiting to hear back from NameMaxi who just launched an excellent lander but I haven't done a deep dive yet as to customization. They also have branding which may confuse but at least its in the footer.

We will be adding more landers in the future --- I am not against a less branded verson of our landers, just a bit lower on the list right now

We are working though some high prioirty iteams right now

I don't find the DomainEasy brand a distraction, in fact my DN shows larger in terms of font size. Maybe it's different on mobile, using desktop.

Yeah, I know a lot of people prefer branding at the bottom as they're concerned it might distract from their name, but personally I am happy with the branding at the top. While it's not a known name yet, at least having a brand there gives the buyer some idea who they're dealing with and I think inherently lends a bit of credibility. And the name DomainEasy immediately communicates that the purchase will be an easy process. When I come across a lander with no branding at all the first thing I wonder is who on earth is selling this thing, and to me personally I find this off-putting.

I suspect DE will become a force in the market over time, and everyone will be crying out for the branding to be put back at the top. Just leave it there IMHO. :)

Heya Sam - Sent a LinkedIn request earlier.

One thing I've noticed is many registrars and other domain-based companies launch without covering themselves on the blockchain. Let me tell you that these squatters have tasted blood in the water and jump on names as soon as Andrew posts a new DomainNameWire article.

TL;DR - I picked up DomainEasy.eth to give to you. If you're familiar with ENS, easy discussion. If not, well, my calendar is open.
