I see. so if 60% of traffic comes from type in, is it that much more valuable than a domain with no traffic or SE dependent traffic?
:talk:
No, calculating value is not that simple.
one type of domains' value, cannot be measured against another domains' perceived value or potential value.
a domain with type-in traffic value, may be priced at X.
while a domain with no traffic may have X value, simply for the potential of it's use.
additionally, a domain with SE traffic has X value based on topic, rank, links, ad rev potential, etc
important to note that "value" and "price" are quite different.
as domains can have value based on different criteria and their price can be based on a variety of factors.
factors such as "who the potential buyer is".
one could "price" the domain higher, simply because they think the buyer has the budget and desire.
or
one could price the domain higher, simply because they don't "have to" sell it.
or conversely, one could "not know the value" of the domain and price it lower than the potential max roi they could have received.
or as others say, left money on the table.
many times, "value" has no relation to price.
Is this because the chance of conversion is higher for type in traffic?
you can't convert traffic/visitors, when/if there are none.
all imo....
