RE: "Domain Trademark Acquisition Intellectual Property Consulting"

Looking to converse with people in the field of Domains and Trademarks and Acquisitions and Intellectual Property and Consulting to discuss ways in which you have gone about choosing domain's whether or not you filed and got or didn't get (a) trade marks and if you have got appraisals on that intellectual property and who if anyone you consulted.

#Domain #trademark #acquisition #intellectualproperty #consulting

Again please only comment if you have experience with regards to the five (5) topics: 1) domains 2) trademarks 3) Acquisitions 4) intellectual property 5) Consulting.

Please do not delete this post please move it to wear it should be if for whatever reason it's not in the correct spot

Okay, let's see if I qualify here...

1) domains - Among other things, I have been treasurer of the ICANN Registrar Constituency, a member of the ICANN Nominating Committee, and several ICANN working groups. I have been engaged in domain disputes for two decades, including under the Network Solutions domain dispute policy which pre-dated ICANN, and in hundreds of domain disputes under the UDRP, usDRP, .biz STOP, euDRP, Nominet DRS, the inDRP, the URS and a couple of odd others. I have been an invited speaker at legal and industry conferences on the subject of domains, and I have also represented parties in litigation in the US under the ACPA, and regularly advise domain registrants, registrars and registries.

2) trademarks - I have advised clients on trademark matters, again for over two decades, including prosecution of US trademark applications, oppositions, and international procedures under the relevant treaties.

3) acquisitions - I have represented parties in acquisitions relating to domain names in deals well into the triple digits of millions of dollars, including purchase of the Ultimate Search portfolio by Marchex for $164M.

4) Intellectual Property - This is a double counting with 'trademarks', but I began employment in intellectual property in 1992, and have been admitted to practice before the USPTO since 1994.

5) Consulting - Quite obviously, I do a lot of consulting.

On the basis of these qualifications, I can definitely say that I have no clue WTF you are asking here:

discuss ways in which you have gone about choosing domain's whether or not you filed and got or didn't get (a) trade marks and if you have got appraisals on that intellectual property

Edit the post?

Despite his maybe demeanor here, hehe, John Berryhill's as experienced in these things as anyone can ask for. Learned a lot from him and not just about domain legal issues.

Feel free to post your questions, as specific as you can.

Dave,

I'm not sure you have the requisite qualifications to comment, based on the rules of this thread. I thought your expertise was Whacky Poster Forums Moderation. When a thread comes along which is limited to only people having experience with 1) Whacky 2) Poster 3) Forums 4) Moderation, then we'll give you a call.

It's been a while since we had a litigant in The Most Important Precedent-Setting Legal Case Evar here at Namepros. If the Googlee Bear is posting nude photos under someone else's name without his consent, then we'll hit the trifecta.
