Domain sale question

Hi , I sold my first domain through Sedo last week, and I now they are telling me that I have to renew it to get the money from Escrow. It was sold on the 9th and expires on the 23rd . Is this required ? If I was going to renew it I would just hold on to it for another year. I just want to know if this is a requirement if its close to expiration date ? Thanks for your help

it will take about a month while they will get your money, and buyer will get its new domain. If you will not renew it, buyer might not get it. It is logical, if you want complete sale you need to renew domain.
