Where's the domain registered at? Each registrar has their own price for private whois protections. It all depends which one your name is at.

Personally, I'm against these type services. If I'm selling names, I wan't real buyers to be able to contact me even if I don't want the spam. I also believe I lost some names due to a privacy protection glitch not allowing renewal notices to come to me.

I suggest using an email address not used for anything else. Filter the incoming mail through a strong spam filter, making sure to white list or prefilter email from the registrar into a "good" mail folder. If you want real privacy, as in not wanting people to know your name, then holding the names in a trust, corporation, or LLC will give you personal privacy.

In the US? You can get a small PO Box for cheap at your local Post Office. Couple that with a cheap or free voicemail account (www.k7.net) and a dedicated email address and you've got perfectly legitimate, yet private, WHOIS details.

In Tongo? You can get whois privacy protection services from eNom. That should stop the buggers.
